however, i ordered an 11, which is always perfect, but this 11 had my toes tapping at the front of the shoe and too tight. I had to return and order an 11.5. Hoping that will do the trick.
These are comfy and attractive hiking shoes. When I first received the shoes, I was worried they were too narrow (my feet are a little on the wide side). But within the day, my feet got used to the shoe... or the shoe got used to my feet. The good:- They look nice. Very earthy and hike-y.- Good quality. Tight, strong stitching. After a month or so, no loose or flappy bits.- Comfortable. I could definitely wear them all day. No groaning when kicking them off at the end of a long day. (Well no more groaning than normal)The not-quite-as-good:- Feet seem to slide around in the shoes a little bit. I haven't had my foot measured in a while (still going through life thinking I'm a 10.5 wide). The shoes seemed to fit well. But after some extended trekking or walking the hilly streets, I get the slight feeling of my foot not getting a lot of traction within the shoe. Which could be due to...- The laces do not tie very tight. It could be the location of the lace hooks or the thickness of the tongue or my puny arms, but the laces never seem to really set firm. As soon as I begin to tie, the laces take on some slack. And if I don't tie a double knot, the laces will eventually be dragging through puddles in a couple hours.Overall:These shoes look the part: woodsy and rugged. People might accidentally mistake you for an outdoorsman and not the Netflix binge-watcher that you truly are. They are quite comfortable and definitely good for wearing around the house or casual strolls. For more serious hiking, I would recommend having a friend or your mother tie your shoes for you.
Shipping was fast and Packed well, I wear a Size 12 Wide but I always get a 13 Wide to give a little extra room..This shoe is Not True to size because on my Left Foot it is a little tight Rubbing a Spot on the side of my Little Toe..I have ben wearing them from the day I got them in Hopes that they may ease up and fit better but so far it is really to my little toe with all the tighness and Rubbing..I may have to Buy something else for this Summer because it looks like I am Not going to be able to wear this Shoe.
Bought these in March 2016 specifically for hiking. To be clear, I'm not an avid hiker - I've used these probably 40-50 times in the past year and a half. Typical hike is an hour to an hour and a half, although I've worn these on hikes as long as five hours. I also use these for mowing the lawn, yard work or if I know I'm going to be tromping around in anything that might require a little more ankle support. I can't speak for whether they are waterproof or not. I haven't worn them in rainy/wet circumstances. But, these were very comfortable from the first time I put them on and to date have held up very well. For the price, they have been great for what I bought them for.
My husband ordered these shoes. He did not tell me that one was much smaller than the other (both say size 13), too tight to walk even a few steps. I asked today how his shoes are working, and he admitted he cannot wear them. Unfortunately, window for return closed few days ago.
I had to experiment with the size until I found what fit me by this manufacture. I liked the quality and once I found what size to order, I bought shoes, hiking boots and full size boots. I will compare them to Columbia for instance - BUT at 1/2 the price. Just can't beat that. I guess Columbia has to pay for all there advertising in order to make a profit. I had never heard of these guys and am way impressed. Only time will tell how long they will last, but if they do, they have won me over for many future footwear purchases.
Good quality, a little snug which hopefully stretches in time, good price and good looking!
#1...Because of the hook-type eyelets on the top, these were hard for me to lace-up. #2...I had to replace the laces because they would loosen-up and not stay laced. #3...the rubber on the heal started to wear out in about two weeks. They look good and fit good but I wouldn't buy them again.
