Detailed Review

When it comes to choosing a hiking shoe, comfort and reliability are paramount. The Northside Men's Gresham Waterproof Hiking Shoe shines in both areas. Its rugged suede upper combined with ripstop nylon inserts creates a durable feel, setting a solid foundation for outdoor activities.

One of the standout features is its waterproof capability. The shoe's seam-sealed construction effectively keeps moisture at bay, meaning you can confidently stroll through puddles or damp grass without worrying about soggy socks. This feature is especially beneficial for weekend hikers who face unpredictable weather.

Comfort shouldn’t be overlooked, and the Gresham excels here too. The padded collar and tongue provide an extra layer of cushioning, while the removable EVA insole offers the option to customize your support. However, some may experience a break-in period, as the shoes can initially feel stiff.

Another highlight is the traction provided by the multi-directional rubber outsole. This design helps grip various terrains, ensuring stability whether you’re walking on rocky paths or muddy trails. Plus, the quick lace-up closure allows for easy adjustments, making them practical for any hiking enthusiast.

Nonetheless, it's worth noting that if you have narrow feet, the wide fit may not be ideal. Additionally, while the overall aesthetic is appealing, the color options are somewhat limited compared to other brands.

Unfortunately not as wide as I had hoped.

I bought this product because of the wide width listed on the site period however even with the wide width it still cramps my foot. I do realize there are two different wide widths I could have chosen from but I've never had to buy a double wide with shoe period so it just kind of disappointed me.

Not good for wide feet

Shoes seem to be durable and they get very hot after one hour.I have wide feet and always buy wide Fila shoes (10) and they are always fine. These shoes felt a little tight but I thought they will loosen up after a couple of hikes, but they did not and if I use them on another long hike, probably i will need to amputate my feet!ps. I bought these shoes for 32$ and they are 22 after just two weeks!, I would say they are good shoes for 22$, but not for wide feet!

Size is too small

I wear size USS9.5 EE from Saucony, New Balance, Stacey Adams and Rockport without issue. So I ordered the same size for this shoe and found its at least 1 size too small. Will never order this brand again. On the plus side the order was shipped (international) quickly and I received it earlier than the estimate.

Wildboy-Mother Approved! Who knew he needed a wide?

My kid has been blasting through his shoes about every 2 or 3 months. I have tried about every brand that has always been good quality for the rest of our family (under armor, Nike, Adidas, TOMS, Converse, Vans) from $20 - $150 per pair. It never fails that kids blows them out. It's not the shoe, I just have a wild kid. I even bought him some great hiking boots...When I got these, they didn't have his size in regular, but they had the wide fit. Wide is usually too big for him, but I thought. WHY NOT? And at first, he said they were too big. But I said, "suck it up, buttercup. It's this, or you need a full-time job to get yourself another pair. Your feet cost more than the mortgage." He laughed and said he'd give them a try. Now he loves them. They're not as wide as most "wide" shoes. And, not a single shred of damage so far. I'll update this post if things change, as well as how long they last for my child, who will certainly quality control them for us all.
