The Merrell Women's Moab 2 Vent is a versatile hiking boot that excels in providing comfort right from the start. Its pigskin leather and breathable mesh upper create a perfect balance between support and airflow, making them an excellent choice for warm-weather hikes or strenuous activities. The traditional lace closure system ensures a snug fit, while the bellows tongue effectively keeps debris at bay, allowing you to focus solely on your path.
When it comes to foot support, these boots shine with their Kinetic Fit ADVANCED removable contoured insole, which reinforces your heel while offering medium arch support. Additionally, the molded nylon arch shank provides the necessary stability on uneven terrain, allowing for a confident stride.
A standout feature is the Merrell Air Cushion in the heel, which absorbs shock and enhances stability, minimizing fatigue during long hikes. Coupled with a lightweight EVA foam midsole, you’ll find yourself enjoying comfort even during extended periods of walking.
On the bottom, the Vibram TC5+ rubber sole ensures that you maintain traction across various surfaces, whether you're navigating rocky trails or muddy pathways. However, potential buyers should note that while these boots are built for durability, they may require a short break-in period before achieving peak comfort.

It took me a while to find the right size and particular style Merrill Shoe I wanted to buy for hiking and walking. I’ve had other Merrill but I wanted something sturdier so I tried higher ankle styles even a wide shoe and everything in between there. Turns out this Moab 2 is perfect. I read reviews to size up or buy a wide and I tried all those options and the shoe did not fit so I returned them all. Turns out I wear a 6.5 shoe and I bought a 6.5 shoe in normal with and that is perfect. I highly recommend this especially if you have bad feet as I do. Everything hurts due to foot surgery from years ago. The shoe is comfortable and perfect for walking and hiking.
I walk a lot and was using New Balance and Asics and adding orthotics or pads. These Merrell hiking shoes need nothing else they are perfect for long walks
Comfortable, however a little heavier than I thought it would be ~
Went on 8 mile in and out hike on first wear. Very comfortable, no blisters. Perfect fit. I usually wear a 6, occasionally 6.5, and these in a 6 were perfect.
I delayed purchasing these shoes because I wasn't sure I wanted a 'hiking' shoe, but I'm so glad I finally made the purchase. They fit perfectly and look great. I have plantar fasciitis and need that good support - I can walk in these all day and not have pain in my feet. My husband liked the look of them so much, we bought a pair for him as well! I highly recommend them.
I had read so many good reviews about this boot. When I first tried them on they seemed very comfortable. However, after walking around, I realized that there was no support around the middle of the foot (around the arch). My foot seemed to be going from side to side and the boot was too wide for me. I ordered a 6.5 Medium as usual, but too wide.
Great shoe wouldn’t ware any other brand great for hiking and work. Owner of many pairs over the years and now.
I fell in my running shoes so I need a hiking shoe while on a gravel trail near my home. The price is so reasonable!
