These shoes may be really great, but the sizing was an issue for me. According to reviews and sizing chart I ordered a half size down and although my toes hit in the right spot at the front of the shoe, the sides were way too tight but the heel was still slipping a little. I was worried about the heel slipping badly if I sized up, so I returned them. I'm a huge fan of Merrell but I'll stick to their traditional hiking boots instead.
I tried 12 pairs of hiking shoes and finally found the right one! Lightweight, springy, comfy. Hiked through the Albanian Alps and all over Montenegro in these and they did great. I am definitely pleased with my purchase!!
I bought these shoes specifically because the description says “Waterproof.” My second day in the shoes I took a few steps through a meadow that had some morning dew on it and my feet were SOAKED for the rest of the day.These shoes will not be usable for me at all. I didn’t expect to be able to walk through streams with them (even though that was one of the marketing photos for these shoes), but I do need shoes that I can hike in during/after the rain. Walking through mildly damp grass showed me that these shoes are a waste of money.
