The Merrell Moab 3 MID WTRPF Hiking Shoe is designed with young adventurers in mind, allowing them to explore diverse terrains without any limitations. With a striking granite and berry color scheme, these shoes are as stylish as they are functional. They feature a combination of leather and mesh upper that ensures both breathability and durability, making them suitable for various weather conditions.
What sets this shoe apart is its bootie waterproof construction, which effectively keeps feet dry during wet conditions. The lightweight EVA construction reduces fatigue, enabling your child to hike longer distances comfortably. Additionally, the rugged rubber sole provides excellent traction on the trail, ensuring stability and grip on slippery or uneven surfaces.

The Merrell Moab 3 MID WTRPF excels in several key areas important for young hikers. Firstly, the comfort level is impressive; the soft EVA cushioning provides support while remaining lightweight. This means your child won't feel burdened by heavy footwear, making long hikes much more enjoyable.
When it comes to performance, the shoe’s waterproofing is a standout feature. Many hiking shoes fall short in maintaining dryness, but the bootie construction here does an admirable job. Even in puddles or light rain, you can trust that your child's feet will stay dry.
A crucial aspect of hiking is the grip offered by the shoe. Here again, the Moab 3 impresses. The rubber sole's gripping lugs provide sure-footedness on rocky paths and muddy trails alike. As a parent, knowing that your child's footwear can handle slippery conditions gives peace of mind.
While this shoe has many strengths, there are a couple of considerations to bear in mind. The price may be slightly higher than other options in the market, reflecting its quality and performance. Additionally, size availability can sometimes be limited, so it’s advisable to check before making a purchase.

good quality and good fit
We like to hike, and my son says these are comfortable and working out great. He has worn them on some day hikes with a small pack.
Required no “break in” time, comfy right from the start. Good support, traction & light weight. Took me several pairs to finally find these but I’m a customer for life now!
Perfect fit at a great price
These hiking boots seem to be very nice and good quality as I would expect from Merrill, but they do seem to run a whole size small. I sized up a half size and it still was not quite enough.
I bought these boots because the Merrel women's wide width boots are too narrow for my D width feet. These (big kids wide) are just wide enough. Another 1/4" would be nice, but they'll do.The tongue on the boot is very short, causing the bow to slip behind the tongue (see photo). I lace the last hooks from top to bottom instead of bottom to top, and they stay in place. The laces are VERY thin. I expect to have to replace them soon.
Bought these for my 11 year old. They fit great and give great support for hiking. No complaints.
No dislikes. Love them. Fits great. And they are water proof. Thank you
