Some of the reviews for Merrell have not been totally positive.Well, this shoe is gortex, fits well, and is great to walk in. (Walked 2 1/2 miles on these shoes after they arrived, and forget they were new shoes after 5 minutes!)
Excellent vendor and authentic product. I was a somewhat skeptical as the price seemed too good to be true, but the shoes are authentic Gore-Tex Merrill shoes, and a quality product at an excellent price. Shipping was prompt and packaging was just fine.
Full disclosure: I'd never purchased hiking shoes before...so this is likely a "me" problem. I just wasn't expecting a shoe that was so big, bulky and chunky. Not for me. In terms of comfort, five stars. Just knew that I would literally fall on my face because I would catch these big shoes on everything!
These shoes are very comfortable, and they kept my feet dry while walking around in the rain in Alaska. I went up half a size to allow room for thicker socks. My new go-to shoes and I even prefer them over my sneakers. I highly recommend.
