I’ve owned multiple pairs of Merrell shoes for myself, and have always been pleased with them. Before going on a hiking trip, this pair was purchased for my youngest son. Unfortunately, they were not comfortable for him. That’s a personal choice, I won’t hold it against the shoes. By the fourth day of hiking, the shoes began to fall apart as shown in pictures. Not at all the quality I have previously experienced with Merrell. I will be returning these shoes and suspect that Merrill has lost the opportunity for ever having a repeat customer with my son.
The only problem with My Merrell shoes is I have to buy new pairs every year! I wear them everyday for 12 -16 hours on my feet. After a year they are ready to be retired.. Love the fit. I usually wear them for work shoes in a kitchen, but they are great for trail walking too.
My coworker suggested this shoe as we are walking on concrete all day. My last pair of shoes did not have any grip on smooth concrete floors. I also like the heel is supported on both sides.
There is a very thin rubbery material covering the webbing. After a few weeks it is already tearing which looks pretty bad. C'mon Merril, Either cheap plastic inserts or cheap materials on the outside.Way to screw up great shoes.
