The Merrell Boy's Moab 3 Low WTRPF Hiking Shoe stands out not only because of its rugged style but also due to its exceptional functionality that caters to young adventurers. In terms of comfort, the EVA midsole provides ample cushioning, ideal for those long days spent exploring trails. As kids tend to be active, the breathable leather and mesh upper prevents overheating, allowing their feet to stay cool and dry.
When it comes to durability, the combination of leather and reinforced toe cap ensures the shoe can handle rough play, making it a solid investment for families active outdoors. Additionally, the bootie waterproof construction is a standout feature, providing peace of mind against splashes and puddles.
In terms of traction, the rubber sole with gripping lugs excels on both muddy trails and rocky paths, giving kids the confidence they need to traverse various terrains safely. However, it's worth noting that some parents have mentioned the sizing tends to run large, so trying them on before purchase is advisable.

These have held up great on a very active little boy!
I have twin boys and bought each of them a pair. They love them because there are “super grippy.”
OK, so I really cheated....I'm an adult woman with small feet & a bad back who needed better walking shoes. These Merrells - the adult version - got kudos for the issues I have. I also look for bargains, & since I can wear a kids size 4, bought these for 1/2 the price. I love them. HOWEVER, they do not provide the same support as the adult hikers. So....I bought the adult pair, which I will review at a later & different time. My opinion for these is that if a child wears these, he/she will be very happy with them. The size is true & they are well built.
The box arrives saying 'Girls size 6' when I ordered a boys 6! Certainly not unisex by that measure. Also the 'light blue-grey' combo colored shoe has a pink logo on the tongue and pink/grey laces, so not exactly unisex by that measure either (I am not pink-fearing by any means, but come on, show that in the photos so I know and then can decide/sell that to my kid). Unhappy with the color combo and sizing - was so excited to get this shoe for the price I did - we love Merrell and waterproof!
The shoes keep my daughter’s feet warm, dry and cozy. They are stylish and comfortable - perfect for hiking or rainy weather. The quality seems well-made, too.
