The KEEN Targhee 2 stands out as a reliable companion for hiking enthusiasts. Starting with its waterproof capabilities, the KEEN.DRY membrane efficiently keeps water at bay, ensuring your feet remain comfortable even during heavy rainfall or river crossings.
Next, the traction offered by the KEEN ALL-TERRAIN rubber outsole is commendable. Whether navigating muddy trails or rocky paths, you can count on the grip this shoe provides. It's especially important for maintaining confidence on slippery or uneven ground.
The support system is impressive as well. The external support shank balances the foot effectively, which is crucial when tackling rugged terrain. Coupled with a contoured heel, stability is significantly enhanced, making it less tiring to hike over long distances.
For those who prioritize fit and comfort, the Targhee 2 excels. With its low-profile design and a generously spacious toe box, these shoes allow for extended wear without discomfort. The removable footbed further elevates comfort levels by providing customizable arch support tailored to individual preferences.
Lastly, the eco-conscious approach of KEEN resonates with many consumers today, making them a fitting choice for environmentally aware hikers.

I've purchased and returned at least 15 pair of hiking boots and shoes. These are awesome! Lots of room w/o ordering a wide. (they were too wide). Hold up well, feet don't hurt. Walked thru snow and puddles and feet stayed dry. I did replace the insole because my foot tended to slide. Only improvement would be a hook near the ankle so the laces would stay tight. Will def buy again!
I've had great comfort with the Voyageur and bought the Targhee 2 to replace an old Voyageur pair which has worn out completely after years of use. These two shoes seem to share the same shoe fast and are built on the same platform. There is plenty of toe box room for me, the back is a bit elevated to help with high arches and the fit is smooth and comfortable all around. They seem to be basically the same shoe.I wear a size 9 in most Keen shoes and boots but when it comes to the Voyageur and the Targhee 2, I need to go up 1/2 size for the perfect fit. For me they run a little too short. I also use a Birkenstock Blue insole for very high arches which completes the overall fit. In the summertime, I wear thin silk socks which makes them just a hair too big (but my feet swell more in the summer making the fit perfect) and for the other months of the year I wear normal thicker socks which work perfectly without being too tight. The Multi color, which is a very deep dark brown and the aqua contrast is really striking and they are a fabulously good looking pair of walking/hiking shoes which get lots of compliments. I really love them.Just a reminder too, is that when your old Keens start to get holes in the bottom from so much use, just keep them and use them as water/river shoes. They are still sturdy enough for this use and to keep your feet supported and covered in the rocky streams and rivers.
Love that they are wide fit. We do a good amount of hiking in Hawaii, on old lava flows, and these are great on the uneven ground. Laces are a bit long, but better to be too long than not long enough. Very comfortable, even after hours of hiking.
I decided to get off my bum and start hiking. I went to my local REI and tried to get a feel for what was on the market. These really stood out and for my slim heels, fit great. Alas, our REI up here seems to have nothing in stock when you want it, or you have to put up with a color you didn't really want. I checked my amazon app, and there they were in a better color too.I run about 8 1/2 to a 9 in shoes and the 8 1/2 fit me perfectly. These arrived quickly and in excellent condition. I started on a couple of trails and these worked out very well. I broke them in by wearing them around town and during my 1/2 - 1 hour walks at lunch and after work. The only time that these seemed to fail me was my most recent trail. Though the failing was more my own. Apparently, I need to build up strength in my ankles, because mine gave out on me when I fell. And it gave out on me twice more while trying to hobble back down the trail while holding onto my dogs leash. So, I really like these shoes, and I am still wearing them. Once I am able to get back on the trails, I will be wearing this same style but in the boot, for the ankle support.
My North Face hiking shoes fell apart after about 10 years so I needed a new shoe and have heard great things about Keen. This shoe is similar to what I had in terms of being a lighter-weight hiking shoe, not super light but definitely not a heavy weigh-you-down shoe, and having good tread. The toe box is much better than what I had before. I did size down a half-size based on other reviews and honestly could go down a full size but I like to wear thicker socks when hiking so going a half-size down works for me.
Although these shoes did not fit my foot as well as another brand (which is why I returned these), they are very well made, a bit on the heavy side, but they are very good hiking shoes. Recommended.
Unfortunately, I had to return these shoes. I usually love Keen shoes, the wide toe box was wonderful and the shoe itself was comfortable, BUT even walking short distances in the house I could tell that I wouldn't be able to wear it because it was just so big in the heel. Even with heavy hiking sock and heel inserts, my foot just kept slipping forward. I even went down half a size and my foot slipped so far forward that my toes were bumping the end of the shoe, but my heel still slipped. I really wanted to love these shoes, they are well made and beautiful, but they did not work for me. I usually wear a Womens size 10 M shoe.
