When it comes to choosing a hiking shoe that combines durability, comfort, and performance, the KEEN Men's Targhee 3 Low Height Waterproof Hiking Shoes stand out as a top contender. The waterproof feature is particularly noteworthy. The KEEN.DRY membrane effectively prevents water from entering while allowing moisture vapor to escape, ensuring that your feet remain dry even during prolonged exposure to wet trails.
In terms of comfort, the Targhee 3 excels with its spacious design that accommodates wider feet without compromising support. The external support shank adds stability, making these shoes ideal for rocky or uneven terrains. You will appreciate the high traction provided by the KEEN ALL-TERRAIN rubber outsole, which grips well on mud and rocks alike, giving you confidence with every step.
One potential drawback is the need for a break-in period. Initially, you might find them a bit stiff, but this quickly changes as the material softens and conforms to your foot shape. Additionally, while these shoes may be on the pricier side compared to standard hiking footwear, their longevity and performance justify the investment.
Ultimately, if you're searching for a reliable, eco-friendly hiking shoe that can handle diverse conditions and provide enduring comfort, the KEEN Men's Targhee 3 is an exceptional choice.

1 month in and I'm very impressed. This is my first pair of Keens and I'm happy I tried them. At the end of the day, my feet feel like they have been walking on a perfectly fitted pad. Not too soft.Assuming it holds up, I'll be buying this brand again. No more old man New Balance for me.
the sole separates after a few years on the other ones I bought but they are comfotable
Excellent work shoe. Light weight and durable. Really like the tough toe cover.
Out of the box fit well and we’re comfortable. 6 months later , falling apart. Top front tab detached. I can now slide my fingers into shoe where the side of the sole meets the uppers.Gave up on Merrill’s and now giving up on Keens.11/23. Contacted Keens warranty department via their website.EXTREMELY easy to follow. Received a full store credit in 1 business day. We will see how the next pair holds up. 5 stars on customer service.
As many of you know, Keen has steadily reduced the quality of their footwear over the last five-or-so years. I've been purchasing their hiking shoes for about 10 years, and this is the last time I'll buy from them. The most recent pair has soles that have been cheapened so severely that I can feel every crack in the pavement, even with custom orthotics in them. In addition, they decreased the length of the shoelaces so much that I could not tie them and had to buy a replacement set.
KEEN MAKES A GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT S, I HAVE BOUGHT BOOTS, hiking shoes/ like a sneaker, Sandler , try to buy products made in USA, unfortunately, materials can come from anywhere however I BELIEVE THIS TO BE THE TREND.
Husband has wide feet and these fit great on him. This is his second pair of keen hiking shoes.
These felt like knockoffs. They did not fit right from the start. Should’ve returned them. Disappointed
