The Columbia Women's Trailstorm Peak Mid Hiking Shoe showcases a remarkable blend of comfort, functionality, and style. From the moment you slip them on, you'll appreciate the thoughtful design that prioritizes foot support without sacrificing aesthetics. The use of leather in conjunction with a textile collar ensures breathability while protecting against common trail hazards.
When it comes to traction, the Adapt Trax outsole excels in providing stability across diverse terrains. Whether you are navigating rocky paths or slippery surfaces, these shoes deliver confidence-inspiring grip. The angular tread pattern adeptly channels water away, making them an excellent choice for unpredictable weather conditions.
Moreover, the TechLite + midsole is a highlight of this shoe, offering impressive cushioning that reacts to your movements, reducing fatigue during long hikes. This means you can stay out longer without discomfort weighing you down.
However, it's important to note that while these shoes are well-built for outdoor excursions, they may be slightly heavier than traditional trail runners, which could be a consideration for those looking for ultra-lightweight options.

I ordered a Try Before You Buy box of 6 pairs of hiking boots by different brands, and I purchased these because they were the lightest and most comfortable for my wide foot (they happened to be the most affordable as well). I sized up to a 9 (I’m an 8.5) so I could use insoles, and I still have room to wiggle in the toe box. The padding around the ankle is slightly bulky, but only when looking down on it, not from a side view. The white, sneaker-like sole makes them look more stylish than your average hiker, and I get a lot of compliments on them. I sometimes swap the red laces for black to mellow them out, but both look good.I’m recovering from a sprained ankle and mid foot, and not taking any more chances by walking or hiking in something that doesn’t offer ankle coverage/support. I’ve been wearing these for two months on neighborhood walks, short and long hikes, and a recent trip to Scotland where I was walking up to 10 miles a day up slippery cobblestone hills, steep stone monuments, and wet, muddy mountains. These shoes never let me down! Even when my feet were submerged in mud up to the laces, my feet stayed dry and the tread stuck to the terrain. I got the green boots with the red laces, and I styled them with wide leg pants and jeans and a trench in Scotland, and they just looked like the sneakers that all the fashion girls were wearing.I heartily recommend these boots! I have no complaints whatsoever, and am considering ordering a second pair in a different color just for fun.
Awesome shoes! Took them on my trip to the summit of Kilimanjaro and they worked great! No blisters or anything and didn’t have to break them in before. The waterproof sides worked great and didn’t have troubles for the majority of the hike keeping my feet dry
Been looking for a walking boot with toe room, comfort, and stability. These boots hit the spot perfectly! So impressed with the comfort and support, great hiking boot for everyday
These shoes worked wonderful for Alaska. They are lightweight, comfortable and waterproof. I love the red shoelace, and the lace hooks. I took a risk and used these for the first time on a trip to Alaska without breaking them in and they were comfortable for hiking. They are almost like a high top gym shoe.
Comfortable, size, quality and look. Great for hiking and everyday casual wear.
I got these for a last minute trip to the Blue Ridge Pkwy. These are the first pair of hiking shoes I have ever owned so I don't have anything to compare them to, but I found them super comfortable despite the fact that I had no time to break them in prior to the trip. I had a sprained ankle a couple of months ago and definitely appreciated the ankle support as well as the grippiness of the soles on some of the steeper/rougher trails. I did not find them to be too heavy or tiresome but I stuck to short trails. Can't comment on the durability as I've only had them for a week at the time of this review. This particular model was not true to color, on the product image it looks more of a beige color but definitely more gray in person. The 2nd image was after using them so they are a little dirty but you can appreciate the color. Fit wise, I am usually a 6.5 and sized up to a 7, with wool socks, they fit great. I did get these on sale (~66$). All in all, a great purchase and would recommend.
this shoe was way off. I've never had trouble fitting into Columbia shoes of any kind. Except this time. Maybe it was just me, but the Trailstorm Peak Mid Hiking Shoe was so large — long and wide — when I tried it on that I didn't bother putting my foot on the ground. I double-checked to ensure it was the 9.5 size I ordered (it was) and returned it the next day. Thank god Amazon makes it so easy!
If im not wearing a barefoot shoe on the trail, these are my weatherproof go to shoes! Comfy and good material.
