I love the Columbia shoes. Fits perfect right out of the box and no break-in period. They are true slip resistant, water proof.I wore these at work in The garden center, I care for the plants that the nurseries bring..., the floors are always wet in the morning from watering, the shoes stayed dry even though watering gets messy at times. I haven't slipped once., the Colubia shoes have good traction, nice cushion and if you have your own orthotics, the insoles come out, so, you can replace them.I wear a size 9M in sneakers, driving mocs, saddles, some boots while New Balance I wear a 9.5M ( medium width).I will keep buying these shoes as long as they are available. I recommend 100%Update: 8/14/2023These are not made for concrete walking or standing all day.I have foot pain and no orthotic, insole will help. The balls of my feet ( metatarsal) ach with every step to the point of limping and toes are numb.It is great wearing on other surfaces, but not concrete.I'm still keeping them for my hikes and walks.
I bought these for my trip to Ireland for shoes that were waterproof with good traction. While we never experienced the deluges predicted, these shoes were great for all types of terrain without looking too clunky for in town strolling. Comfortable right out the box for all day use.
I don't like ordering shoes online, but for the most part, I'm pretty happy with these Columbia Redmonds. For the price, they weren't bad; here are some Pros and Cons after wearing them for the first time on a short hike:Pros/Positive: They look great. I love the colors and I've already gotten a few compliments on them.--They fit well, although they're a bit snug. I got a 7-1/2, and while my feet aren't real wide, they seem a bit tight width wise. They're o.k. with one pair of socks, but with 2 pair or a very thick pair, they would be too tight.--The terrain here in AZ is mostly rocks/sand, and they did very well with that. The soles are just the right thickness for hiking on gravel/rocks/sand. I can't attest to the waterproof-ness of them as it rarely rains here in southern Arizona, and that wasn't a consideration when I bought them.Cons: They have very little (if any) padding inside, and the sole is very hard. I know it'll take time to break them in, but I can't see the inside sole softening up much. I may end up having to get gel inserts at some point.--As others pointed out, the laces are very hard to keep tied. They're made of slippery nylon material and even though I tied them very tight to begin with they came untied a couple times during my hike.--Also, although the description says 'breathable', my feet sweated a lot with these, and I usually don't have that problem. It may be due to the 'waterproof' aspect of the shoe, I'm not sure.Other than those things though, I do like them so far. Only time will tell how they'll hold up, although they look fairly well made. I was a little irked though because the day after I ordered them, I noticed the price dropped about $25. I was thinking of cancelling my order and re-ordering them, but didn't want to go through the hassle.
These shoes have been a game changer with hikes. They actually are waterproof. They are very helpful with stability in uneven terrain. They are comfortable and fit well at my typical size. They are also cute as a bonus! Support helps keep my ankles and feet from hurting or twisting. I couldn't find them on the Columbia site and was so sad I would not be able to replace them but Amazon to the rescue. I have had my current pair for a little over two years and have done lots of hiking with them, in all seasons. They are just now starting to lose the inside cushion on the sides. They would be able to maybe even last another year and I will wear them until they get too worn out but re-ordered today to have a pair ready when needed.
These shoes always fit perfectly the first time I try them on. I’m on my second pair. I wore the first pair for at least 3 years and I do a lot of hiking. The tread was still good but I wanted more cushion after 3 years.
This is the third pair I've had. Loved the first one - great fit, comfortable, and waterproof. Ordered a second pair when it went on sale. After a few months, the right shoe started leaking just walking in dew covered grass. I had already ordered the third pair by this time. Again, the right shoe started leaking and after a little while, the left did also.
I normally wear a size 6 in boots but these ran way too small. I had to get a size 7.5 and they fit great. I can wear my hiking socks with no problem.Boots are very comfortable only negative is it seems someone wore the ones I received. Their feet was imprinted in the soft soles.I took these boots on a true test. I wore these hiking, on the atv trails, in the rain and even ziplining and they were comfortable and awesome. I even ordered my mom a pair. You don’t even need to break them in.Some people complain about the shoelace coming undone. You need to do a hikers knot on them or change the lace.
It is the third pair of these good shoes, for me, what indicates that I have to change them for new ones is the wear on the sole, they have no breaks outside of use, Very good, and the size is correct
