I waited to review these until after I put them to the test. These were the only shoes I needed for two wintry weeks in Europe, traipsing over cobblestones, melting slush piles, ice, and mud. I stayed upright on the frozen-over puddles while my husband, wearing regular running shoes, was slipping and sliding. Cleaned up, they looked fine for city touring as well. These shoes were waterproof, warm, comfortable with a very short break-in period, and are now my new favorite shoes for any kind of offroad or rough surface exploring. I think they will last a long time, but I'm considering buying a second pair in another color because I like them that much. As far as sizing, I normally wear a 7 wide in athletic shoes. I went up to a 7.5 wide in these to accommodate thick winter hiking socks. My feet have wide toes and narrow ankles (so kind of flipper-shaped) and are nearly impossible to fit. Keens are wide enough, but have heels that slip on me. These are secure in the heel without crunching my toes. Another win for Columbia in my travel closet!
Bought for trip to Ireland. Pretty comfortable as we did a lot of walking. Like that they are waterproof also.
Great fit, finish, and looks. Nothing to complain about. Will see how long they last.
This is so comfortable. It feels like I’m walking on the clouds. Great for hiking and trails. However, it gets very warm very fast. Wouldn’t recommend for very hot days
I have wide feet and these fit me. These are my favorite shoes for my days off.
I volunteer at a shelter, cleaning kennels and walking the dogs. These shoes are truly non-slip when cleaning the kennels, and there is a lot of water used. Also, after walking the dogs, I have to rinse my shoes off before cleaning kennels, and my feet do not get wet when rinsing the bottom of the shoes. They help keep me steady on the various types of terrain around the shelter, as I am prone to a sprained ankle and wearing these shoes truly helps. While I do have a wide foot, these do seem to be a little bit wider than most white shoes. But with an ankle brace on, it's not a problem.
I like the shoes. They fit well but just a few days after wearing, the stitching where the toe cap meets the mesh part kind of pulled a bit. They don't seems to be unstitching, bit just looks likes the quality check was lax.
I took a chance and bought these shoes just before going on a long trip, not knowing if they would be comfortable enough to wear every day. I had never worn Columbia shoes before, so I didn’t know what to expect. I was happy to learn the shoes felt great for the duration of the trip. They offered good support and a nice feature: The tongues are sewn in place so I didn’t have to pull them into place all the time. They do feel a bit heavier than regular walking shoes, but not enough to present a problem. Great shoes at an excellent price.
