Detailed Review

The Columbia Men's Redmond III Waterproof Hiking Shoe stands out in multiple categories, particularly in terms of comfort and performance. The Omni-Tech technology ensures that your feet remain dry even in rainy conditions, allowing you to focus solely on your hike.

When it comes to comfort, the Techlite lightweight midsole offers superior cushioning and excellent energy return, which is a game changer for those longer treks. Furthermore, traditional lace-up design combined with reinforced construction gives you a secure fit, crucial when navigating tricky trails.

Another highlight is its all-terrain traction capabilities. The Omni-Grip outsole is designed to provide sure footing, making it versatile enough for both rugged outdoor conditions and safe for indoor environments, thanks to its non-marking surface.

However, while most users appreciate the fit and style, a few have reported inconsistency in sizing, so it's wise to try them on before purchase. Overall, if you're looking for reliable performance footwear, this option should certainly be on your radar.

Sturdy

Sturdy And comfortable. Replaced my 20 year old Timberline hiking boots with these. These fit nicely even though I have a wide foot.

Looks good, mostly comfortable, little narrow

I like them. They look good, good support, good soles (fyi I use them casually), but they run a little narrow, and the shoe laces are short.I don't have wide feet, but I had to loosen the laces up considerably to fit comfortable, but that leaves me with next to nothing to tie the shoes. I have a comically small knot to keep them on. Planning on replacing the laces eventually, (if I can find something similar).Overall I like the shoes, I just wish they at LEAST had longer shoe laces

Comfortable and warm

I really liked my shoes. I'm still breaking them in, but they are comfortable and warm. I thought the tongue could be a bit longer to give a bit more stability and I did not test their waterproof quality yet, but so far, so good.

Order 1/2 size larger: see review

Hi,I am going to try to not rate these uless I am forced to because I have not really worn them yet; however, I ordered my regular size but it felt a bit small. So i ordered 1/2 size larger. The half size larger felt better than the regular size. They also felt "like a running shoe." They were not uncomfortable but they had a tight feeling on the sides. I will rate these after I wear them for a while. I kept them because they are waterproof and the price. The length is fine with a half size up, but they still feel short. I felt this was important iformation so I wrote the review before I wore them.

Painfully small

My favorite shoes are 10 wide men's of this exact model bought years ago. Starting to wear out so wanted to get a replacement. Bought the same size as before and what arrived was NOT 10 wide but maybe 9.5 medium. Could barely get one of the shoes on and impossible to walk in comfort. Compared my old 10 wides to this pair and the old ones visibly wider. The tongue on the old ones specifically stated "wide" but the tongue on these did not. But the box for this shoe stated "wide." Conclusion is the factory put medium shoes in boxes labeled wide. Previous reviews indicating undersizing that I initially dismissed as outliers now confirmed by personal experience that a systemic issue is present.Bought a replacement pair from the Columbia website that arrived and fit fine and say "wide" on the tongue.Glad these were returnable.
