The webbing loops for eyelets is weird. The placement of those loops around the toes causes even more trouble. Here's the trick: Adjust the laces very loose over the toes. The lace should just lay across the top of the toe box. If you tighten the laces over your toes the shoe will deform, putting pressure on your toes in uncomfortable ways. Also, for stability, try using the lace-lock on the top eyelets -- lace should come out from the rear top eyelet and go in at the front top eyelet before crossing for the knot.Laced right these are absolutely comfortable and wonderful shoes.
Laces are terrible... starting to fray even as I'm just trying them on for the first time. I have no idea what the designers were thinking when they decided to put the front most lace loops so wide apart... creates a narrow band over the top of your foot which is uncomfortable. Finally the mid foot arch is way too high (for me at least). Started the return process within an hour of receiving the item. Just plain terrible.
I love Chaco’s! These are not the most comfortable water shoes. The placement of the lowest shoelace loop is pretty low on the toe box so it digs into my pinky toe. The sole is good and they do dry pretty quickly, except you have to wear socks or your feet just get absolutely thrashed.
I’ve had these for less than 3 weeks, worn for maybe 7 days, and one of the loops for the laces has already come unstitched. They are very comfortable, but the quality is poor.
As others mentioned, the very wide set of the the front laces makes for a terribly uncomfortable fit. The structure of the shoe largely rests against my 5th toes. Very uncomfortable
