I used these to hike around the Badlands, Custer State Park and go through Wind Cave in South Dakota. These were great at keeping me from slipping and helping my feet stay dry. I recommend wearing them in before going on long hikes. The tongue of the shoe in particular was very stiff the first couple of wearings. I am glad I had purchased well ahead of the trip and had time to make sure they were comfortable before doing longer hikes.
Used these for 5 days hiking in Canada and they worked great! They are a bit stiff and so I recommended that you break them in prior to your trip. It rained on us one day and my feet were completely dry!. Will be ordering more for my family. They do run big keep that in mind.
Good for hiking - less bulky than traditional hiking shoes or boots. Took a little while to break in (couple miles) - stiff, and hurt a bit around the top of the ankle. Worked itself out pretty quickly. Definitely not super breathable (typical with goretex), so does get kind of hot in summer. Heavier than sneakers but lighter than my keens. I’m happy with them.
Love, love them.
My husband and I have worn multiple pair of the Swift R2 GTX and loved them. Sadly, Adidas is not longer making the Swift R2GTX so we both tried the R3 GTX. He returned his and I wish I had returned mine, since I have only worn them a couple times. Even though I bought the R3 GTX in a half size smaller than the R2, the R3 are too big and uncomfortable. In addition, we loved the lacing gizmo on the R2, which made the shoes easy to slip on and tighten. The R3 laces are a pain to tie and don't stay tied. I wish Adidas would bring back the R2. Don't buy the R3!
Just put these to the test through creeks, over slippery rocks and roots, steep climbs and rocky downhills. My feet were dry and I didn’t fall so that’s saying a lot! No blisters or sore spots. I’m a 7 wide or 7.5 regular. I got these in a 7 and they fit great! Thought they might be too lose but I like the room. So happy I got these.
Shoe seemed sturdy and good quality. I ordered my usual size and they were way too big.
