The Skechers for Work Women's Soft Stride-Softie Lace-Up shoes stand out in the crowded market of work footwear, primarily due to their robust combination of comfort and utility. With their slip-resistant outsole, these shoes are ideal for those who work in environments where spills or slippery surfaces are common. You can confidently stride through your day knowing that you have a sturdy grip underfoot.
Another commendable feature is the athletic cushioning provided by the design. This aspect ensures that even after standing or walking for hours, your feet remain comfortable without feeling fatigued. The removable PU insole allows for personal customization based on your arch support needs, making it a versatile option for varied foot shapes.
From a material standpoint, the shoes are crafted from 100% leather, giving them durability while also maintaining an elegant appearance. Their machine-washable nature adds to practicality—keeping them clean doesn't have to be a hassle.
However, it's worth noting that some customers have found these shoes to be on the heavier side compared to traditional sneakers, which could be a consideration if you prioritize lightweight footwear. Additionally, while the black color is professional and easily matched with work attire, the limited color variety might not suit every user’s taste.

Are you looking for a good work shoe that's comfortable for 8 hrs on concrete? I tried several styles of Skechers “work” shoes and here is a list of the ones I tried along with my opinion of each:**My requirements for work: Must be comfortable for a lot of walking and standing for at least 8 hours on concrete and slip resistant. Feet should not get cold, toes not pinch, prefer a little breathing room for my feet/toes (I order a wide width to help with this), arch supported, and other than tired, feet should not pinch or hurt at the end of the day.** Skechers Work shoes:Soft Stride Softie Lace Up Work was probably the best shoe with the thickest foot bed (sole), putting the most distance between my foot and a concrete floor. It is very comfortable with adequate cushion. However the shoe is quite large in size and appearance, nothing dainty about it. Very comfortable work shoe, but clunky looking. Will especially be good in winter.D’Lites Work were impressively light weight while still offering a nice foot bed and cushion for work. Almost identical in appearance as the Soft Stride Softie Lace Up but less clunky looking. Very comfortable work shoe.Compulsions Chant Work Shoe looks similar to the Soft Stride and D’Lites but with less thickness to the foot bed, little cushioning. Don’t recommend, better to go with one of the above.Compulsions Indulgent Work with Velcro closure has a nice appearance but not thick enough foot bed (sole) and not as comfortable as the D’Lites or Soft Strides. Inadequate work shoe on concrete.Biker’s Dream Come True has a sporty look that’s quite sharp looking. It’s lightweight and comfortable, with elastic laces. However, not a good work shoe on concrete and hurt after just an hour on my feet. The foot bed is not thick enough. Don’t recommend for work, but a sharp looking shoe for other activities.Crocs Neria Work. Always my favorite work shoe. Hard for anything else to compare. Also, I learned the hard (expensive) way by ordering all of these shoes thru Amazon, some were from Amazon but others were from Fashion Connection and Peltz. Shipping and returns thru Amazon were free but the other two charged me shipping and I also had to pay for returns. It was very expensive! Amazon says this on its site, but I missed it. I was told from a source that ordering thru Zappos.com (also Amazon-?) is much friendlier with free shipping and returns on all orders. I will definitely check this out next time!
Best shoe ever! Because I wear a thick sock with these shoes, I ordered a 10 extra wide, instead of a 10 wide. So the shoes fit very comfortably. They have a great grid on the sole and do not slide or slip in wet or slippery conditions. Also, the sole is very thick and sturdy, preventing any sort of harsh shock to the spine. This is really why I love them: striking the ground with the heel that "gives" a little and then pushing forward is so comfortable. This is so great for the back. And the support is so good that I have no metatarsal pain in the foot. There are no seams that cut into the foot either. I have worn them in rain and snow and gotten no leakage. I did put an orthotic in and had plenty of room in the toe box. Overall, this is the best shoe I have had, and I have tried many, many brands. I have herniated disks and a knee replacement and one hip replacement - these shoes help me walk comfortably.
I was in need of new slip resistant shoes for my job in the food industry and after looking around locally and not finding anything I liked I turned to Amazon and found these Skechers. I read some of the reviews and decided to order the Skechers Soft Stride - I was not disappointed in my choice!I am on my feet up to 12 hours a day at work and really needed a shoe that was not going to hurt - plus I have had problems with my feet including plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. I have been wearing these shoes for nearly a week now and expected to have some pain as my feet adjusted to a different shoe but I was VERY surprised when I had NO pain at the end of the day - even WITHOUT my orthotic inserts! The slip resistant bottoms have kept me safe on wet and greasy floors with no problem. The treads do tend to gather gunk but any shoe can do that so I just rinse the bottoms off.In the past I found Skechers to run a bit small but ordered these in my normal size and they fit perfectly! I was also very happy these were offered in a wide width!Overall, I am very happy with the shoes and am definitely going to stick with Skechers work shoes from here on out!
These shoes are great and comfy. Plenty of room for my toes. I am a 6 1/2-7 wide in most sneakers. I got a 7 wide width and it fits perfectly for me. I have worked in these shoes for a few days, definitely a lot better than traditional sneakers but would highly recommend getting insoles. There just wasn’t much arch support for my feet (I’m not sure if I have a high arch or normal arch). My feet definitely hurt less than they usually do when I stand for long periods of time in traditional shoes.
I work in a shop and am on my feet all day long. The nature of my work tends to dirty up shoes quite a bit, and the use tends to make cheaper shoes get grungy and fall apart after maybe 6 months. These shoes, however, are easy to clean off, provide better support, and stay together well enough to last me about 18 months of continuous use. They are the best I have found thus far and I will continue to get them.
Toe box is tight on toes. Can't tell until after first purchase and have to walk at work all day. The shoe is terribly comfortable when first put on. After an hour or so you can feel the squeeze. After 3 hours it's translated to slight pain. Walking downhill is an ouch no. This shoe was defect. The left shoe was tighter in right of the toe box. Because of MY experience won't buy again. Inserts are not removable. Inserts make shoe too tight. I didn't know; wore both ways, at work. Ouch. Go with larger size; they may not disappoint you; the largest size that can be worn without foot sliding around or coming off. Skechers are comfortable. I wore the heck out of mine, past a reusable happy. I will not wear mine again. New job. I'm tempted to try larger size, but won't, at least not while funds are so tight, and sitting at work is a maybe.
