The best nursing shoes and the best nurse mates I've had so far. Perfect fit with compression stockings on.
-This pair of (Nurse Mates Dove) shoes felt like they would be comfortable on the soles of my feet just fine, however, the style, which I had not realized in the picture has the front tongue area of the shoe reach the inner ankle. Due to my own issues and preferences, it would not have worked for me. I need a shoe that is more open (more like the top of a MaryJane. I still gave it a good rating because except for personal preference it felt comfortable on, and the fit was great.
These shoes were a bit tight around the ankle and the big toes. I’ve only worn them once because of this.
I used to wear Nike shoes for work. Always had to ask hubby to massage lower extremities from all the standing. My legs really hurt at the end of day. But now that I've been using these shoes for 2 months, it's like a gift from the heavens. I haven't asked my husband once to massage my legs after work. They're really made for being on your legs a lot. Its light and It has the cushion and support that I need for the 12hrs shift that I do. I'm ecstatic that I've finally found the shoes to resolve my aching feet and legs from a days work and for such a great deal.
I ordered a wide size and regular size shoes and it was too tight still- material not very giving- too stiff particularly on the back of the ankle.
I have been wearing this shoe for what seems like FOR-EVER! I love them. For my feet this is THE shoe. I have purchased this shoe at least 6 times over the years. It is well made, lasts quite a long time, and is easy on my budget. I have paid high dollars for a multitude of the designer and popular nursing shoes, but I come back to my Nurse Mates Dove every time because of comfort issues. I have a history of plantar fasciitis, and also have had metatarsal-phalangeal joint replacements in both feet (all resultant of being a nurse on my feet 12-hours a day for 35+ years). Last year I had a total knee replacement. These shoes still keep me upright and walking through every shift I work. I am a full time Clinical Nurse Specialist so you know I am on my feet a ton of time! I buy these shoes and put them on straight to a full work day. No break in period; that's how well they fit for me! Highly recommend.
Never in my life have I had this much pain with shoes. Horrendous piercing pain with my arches, my toes cramped up, the fabric tag liner on top of the shoe scraping against the top of my foot.... I wanted to cry when I walked to my car after my clinical rotation. I wore them twice (but bought them months in advance) and they are by far, the most painful shoes I've EVER had the displeasure of wearing. My friend bought the same one as me and the bottom of her sole fell off on day 1. Horribly made! Some of my colleagues had mentioned their feet felt fine, but certainly not mine. Go for the sketchers memory foam. They're cheaper and you'll feel like you're walking on a cloud. I practically begged amazon for a return and thankfully, they helped me out.
I'm on my 2nd pair of Nurse Mates and plan to always have a pair available. I started wearing them after a knee injury that put me on crutches for a long time. I use them with thick shoe inserts from the Walking Store, and they are among the most comfortable shoes I own. After my knee got better, I still bought another pair of Nurse Mates for when I'm out in my yard because these shoes are so easy to clean and you can slip them on and off without the hassle of laces. When nurses approve of shoes, you know they have to be excellent, and for people who aren't nurses, these shoes are still very helpful.
