Orthopedists and a rheumatologist have been directing me to a different brand of clogs for years but that brand made my feet hurt MUCH WORSE rather than provide the support they need.FINALLY, I found these Keen Utility Women's Slip On in Wide while looking for other shoes. I hesitantly thought I'd give them a try and am SO GLAD I DID! The toe box is roomy, the arch support is excellent ... and they're made as well as any other Keen shoe (my usual go-to shoe for years).I couldn't be happier to have found these in wide, my feet couldn't be happier! Little to no break in time, as comfortable as wearing slippers and my arthritic toes/feet LOVE THESE. The soles are not as rigid as Dansko, which is a plus for me having sesamoiditis as well (that's why I can't bear Dansko clogs). All around LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these shoes. Glad I didn't give up looking for a wearable, black clog and found these Keen's in wide.
I have several different styles of Keens and all have been true to size except this shoe. Normally I wear 7.5 but as soon as I took them out of the box I could tell they were smaller and confirmed it when trying them on. Returned, ordered a size 8 and they fit perfectly. I compared the size 8 to my other shoes that are 7.5 and the length matched therefore I highly recommend ordering a half size up. Otherwise these are great for when I am on my feet all day and I will be ordering other colors.
these do have a little of a heel so if you're on your feet for long periods of time, i wouldn't recemmond these. i had other keen shoes that were similar and last for 1.5 yrs so i stand by KEEN shoes. especially if they're just for work. my other pr i had were a little tighter across the top of the foot so had to get a size bigger, so not knowing these, i got the same size and they fit perfect, other then the slight heel. i like slip on shoes for work. easy to take off and on. my feet dont slip n slide inside
I was worried as they looked cheaply made in the picture but they are sturdy and look well made and even cute. They fit me great. I did go up 1/2 a size due to reviews. My feet are slender so I don’t seem to have the problems some wrote about, i.e. being to tight in the toes or heels. So far do good....I have been breaking them in before I work a full shift so I will update once I wear them all day.
The hospital where I work is requiring slip resistant shoes for all employees & documentation from the manufacturer that the shoes we wear at work are in fact "slip resistant." We have till 5/2011 to comply or get warnings/written up, so I needed to buy a pair now to break them in by May. My feet are sensitive - rheumatoid arthritis, hammertoe, bunion, and broken metatarsal last summer. I purchased these because they looked comfortable & reviews said they offer good arch support. All this was true, although for me they were not comfortable right away. They have wonderful arch support but felt a little stiff for the first two weeks. While at work, I started wearing them for an hour a day for the first few days, then a few more hours a day, etc, switching back to my more comfortable sneakers. After two weeks I can now wear them all day & not think about foot discomfort. I really like them- easy to clean, fairly attractive, great support (i also have poor arches), No - they are not as comfy as my NB sneakers, but since we won't be allowed to wear regular sneakers in a few months, I am glad I have found these. BTW - Danskos ARE slip resistant, very popular, but are not for everyone - they are quite stiff- These Keen slip ons have the cushioning in the sole that most Danskos do not.
I rarely write product reviews, but this shoe fit so poorly I had to say something. I have absolutely normal feet - no flat feet, high arch, bunions or anything. Yet, even trying on half a size larger than what I normally use, I literally could only get my toes inside the shoe. My husband insisted that once I got the foot in it would be fine based on his experience. I forced my foot in there like the stepsisters in Cinderella, hurt my foot in the process, and the top edge of the foot was still way too tight at the arch. I seriously don't understand how people are wearing these shoes. Returning IMMEDIATELY.
I am a new nurse, and did a lot of research to buy myself a good pair of nursing shoes. This fit my bill from reading the reviews, and it turned out to be true after I started wearing them. I am working at the labor/delivery unit, so I get to contact with a lot of body fluids. These shoes are slip-free, so I have one less worries when I work on the floor. It took me some time to break them in because I have high arches, but after a few weeks, I don't feel awkward any more. Overall, great shoes with great quality!
I own a lot of Keens and they were my go to choice when I switched from being on the ambulance to being in the hospital. I don't know if these are just a bit too small, but I ended up taking them off after only a few hours because they were creating strange pressure points on my feet. The top edge is very stiff and created a sore spot after a brief time. The inside is quite cushy tho and the arch support is nice. I may try a 6 and see if that helps (6 is usually too big for something like this in Keen for me) because I know Keens to be great shoes usually. My biggest issue with them has always been their inconsistent sizing.
