I have bought and enjoyed Trotters before and am delighted with these shoes and this style. The size I ordered was a perfect fit. The color is true and very rich looking. They are very comfortable to wear, but I think I will try to find an insole to provide a bit more padding. The elastic sling back keeps the strap from slipping and the shoes stay securely on my feet. They are finished very nicely on the inside - no rough spots to irritate the skin. I would definitely order these again.
I don't know what happened to all the prior customer reviews that were present on this site -- I relied on them prior to my purchase. Anyway, I was wearing a 10-B in all makers until this past year when I developed, along with my bunions, the beginning of an ingrown great toenail. Ok, TMI ... but, I have to let anyone who is looking at this know. So now, instead of a size 10B, I search out leather only and in size 10.5-B. Hard to find that size, but they are available. This way, I get about 1/4 inch longer and the crazy toe box shapes are not as painful! I got this shoe on a fantastic sale in the Ivory size 10.5-B. The length is perfect; my heel does not 'hang over' the back and my toes are not scrunched up front. However, as the lady who mentioned wearing them with socks for a few days said, they are tight in the WIDTH of the toe box. So, I will wear these around home for several days to try to break them in. If that doesn't work, I'll try a shoe stretcher, although I hate that because the results are always 'iffy'. I do love the style, and hate the dressy flats with the paten toe boxes - because the seams hurt my toes, no matter which ones I've purchased. And I've purchased hundreds of shoes over the years, and done damage to my feet. I'm on my feet all day and need comfortable shoes. I really feel that with Trotters, once these are 'broken in' in the toe box, that they will be very comfy. Not sure I'd spend $90 for a pair, but for what I got them for, it was well worth the price.BOTTOM LINE: you may want to go up 1/2 size, as the actual shape is a rounded off toe box that probably started out on the drawing board as an awful pointed toe. Also, because the last reviewer and myself both felt the toe box is tight, you may also want to increase your width size -- ie, instead of a b, get a C. The weaving seems very sturdy, and the mfg is well know and usually excellent, but I'm not sure how stretchy they will become. I do not think they will stretch out of shape, more like stretch to conform to your individual foot. Good luck!
Nice looking shoe, but runs size small
This is a very cute sling back shoe and it goes well with several of my spring/summer outfits. However with a bunion on my left foot, the shoe feels tight. My local shoe repair shop was able to gently stretch the toe box area of both shoes and now they are comfortable. The color is great and the sole is durable. The heel strap is a good fit; no blisters.
I love Trotter shoes and this is my favorite style so I was really excited when I saw it on Amazon. When the shoe arrived the box was old, worn & torn. The fit was perfect but the shoe was awful. They look plastic and one of them had a black spot on top. Plus it was clearly a "second" since the back strap was not "finished" it was rough, seams were not covered, the bare elastic rubbed against the heel. I am returning the shoes & will go back to DSW Shoes.
Shoe was too tight on my foot.
I have long, skinny feet (11 2A) and these fit perfectly. I am adding more arch support, but that may just be me. It is a great looking, comfortable shoe.
Nice shoes but too tight
