As a woman with WW feet, a high arch, high instep and plantar fasciitis, I really wanted these leather ballet flats to be stellar. I’ve been looking for a pair of simple black leather ballet flats for about 4 years now. To a great extent, I don’t even care about price anymore. I just need a pair that fit. When I can find a WW width shoe, it is generally too long for a typical size 9 shoe and the heel is so sloppily wide that even if I can get the length and width worked out, the heel slips so I can’t keep the shoe on my foot when I walk. Propet is known for its wide range of sizes and widths, including WW. However, with the Yara, the sizing is so unreliable it drives me nuts. I tried a 9.5WW, a 9 WW, and an 8.5W. The 8.5W was finally the right length and width - who knew I could wear an 8.5 again!?!- but the dang heel was still too wide. These are plain black shoes and they look a little dowdy. I would have gladly, finally, settled for dowdy if only I could have kept the shoe on my foot. And I don’t have a particularly narrow heel. I have several lace up Propet shoes and boots in 9 and 9.5. Propet needs to get standardized regarding its sizing otherwise women are going to get so exasperated they’ll quit buying. Perhaps because these shoes are made in China at multiple factories there are no standards. If they fit you, great. For me, I give up after 3 tries. I couldn’t keep any pair.
I think wide width has a different meaning for every women. I have embarrassingly included pictures of my wide width Fred Flintstone feet without the shoes on so everyone can see my version of wide width. I also included pics with the shoes one so you see how they fit me and my edema life. I hope they help anyone reading this make the right choice for them. That all said I took a chance on 11 xw (2E) even though I typically go for 11xxw in Propet shoes. The shoes fit...even though it's hard to tell in the pics...lol.I had peds on with the shoes and there was slip in the heal. Also the shoe is a little tight across the top. With trouser socks, instead of nylons both "problems" became non-issues. The shoe fits and feels great.I am rating this a 5 star simply because these shoes were bought used and I gambled. The seller was true to their word, the shoes are in pristine condition and I don't think they were ever worn. These shoes will look nice with pair of slacks I need to wear and I feel like they will be good for the walking I'll be doing during benefit fair season.
I dislike the fact that it runs sooo large.
My first purchase of this brand. I am a standard 7, moving towards the need for a W width. These shoes were probably closer to an size 8 in length. Returning them asap. This was my 3rd attempt to purchase a simple low- heeled comfortable dressy shoe. Why is that so difficult??
I always want a shoes like it.
Did not fit correctly. Way too wide.
Too small for me
