I have four pairs of Gentle Souls and for the most part enjoy the flexible feel of them. This particular pair (silver) has a balled up section of leather between the heal and arch. So I tried to wear them 3-4 times (winter here, so not a prime shoe for the weather) and see if it would work out, it didn't so I contacted the seller and since I am two weeks past return time (again, sorry I could not wear them more to find this out) ... they will NOT allow me to return these practically brand new shoes. UGH!! Now I have an expensive pair of shoes I can't wear. I think I'll stick with other brands and ZAPPOS!!So Gentle Souls ... Not toooooo bad. For the price though ... I would pass on getting these again. I am not a barefoot shoe person, so I need to be very selective on socks - they need to be super thin, nothing heavy as these are quite snug and if they get stretched out, they would not fit well. They are comfy, but not the most comfy - I have Franco Sarto, Born, Clark, and other way cheaper shoes that are more comfortable than these are. But, I liked the 'natural' look and the second skin feel of these - I am not overly disappointed, just not overly thrilled.Over all, Gentle Souls, Not toooooo bad. For the price though ... Unfortunately this is the only pair out of the four Gentle Souls that I own that have a MAJOR comfort issue, so maybe 25% is not bad??? Maybe it is. :/
These may seriously be the most comfortable staright-out-of-the-box shoe I have ever worn. I've walked all over the city in them for 2 straight days now, and I actually got so excited about how comfortable they were that I praised myself for making the purchase. Note about my feet: I have sensitive feet with a high instep and normal to high arches. These were true to size, but just barely. Because of the soft, pliable material, they stay on my feet, but they're *almost* loose; I think if I wore tights or thin socks with them they would stretch out immediately and become too large for my bare feet.
Very soft....feel like moccasins....comfortable. I wore them at work all day without complaint....however, I did notice at the end of the day that the outer seam rubbed my little toe. Most likely, once broken in, I won't notice that issue. A very nice shoe....a little pricey for my budget though.
I would have liked these "loafers", but they pinch at the ball of the foot. I couldn't imagine walking in them. My feet are a LITTLE wide for "medium", but mediums almost always fit. These didn't. Oh, well.
Unfortunately I had to return shoes back. They were too large and too wide, didn't have good arch support for me. They look more attractive on the picture for that price. I have to say I love the style and softness of leather. If they had a better support I would definitely exchanged for one size smaller.
I was headed in to work earlier this year, wearing my Gentle Souls loafer (aka my office slippers) and had the bad thought that they might stop making these shoes and then something would happen and mine would fall apart. They are so comfortable that it really does feel like I'm wearing slippers. They looked a little pointy to me at first, but completely grew on me.I did try them on at the store though, and realized that they run about half a size large for my comfort. So, I wear an 8.5 and ordered these in an 8. Fits perfectly.
Great shoes, comfortable and a good brand. Only problem is they're a bit big. I put pads in them but in thefuture I'd order a smaller size.
