I wear a women's size 11 and the European size 42 fit perfectly. It is supportive as advertised and comfortable to wear when strolling or shopping (but not as comfortable as a supportive pair of running shoes, like Asics, if you'll be walking at a fast pace). The only hesitation I had was the inside of the strap that wrapped around the back of your foot. The end of the strap rubbed against my foot but didn't really hurt. Upon wearing for an extended time, I didn't notice it, nor did it make a mark in that spot. Just a matter of getting used to. I also have a high instep which this style accommodates very well with the hook and loop closure. The style is traditional and will last forever, and goes with most apparel. Based on a pair of Finn Comfort shoes that I wore to work for nearly 8 years without them wearing out, I expect to have these at least that long since it is a seasonal sandal.
Pretty great for an orthopedic shoe. They seem to be slightly wider footbed than my other Finn Comforts (athletic shoes).A big plus is that all of the straps are easily adjustable, so if my feet misbehave during the day, my sandals can be adjusted to accommodate swelling etc.My pair is some kind of black shimmer. It’s pretty but difficult to keep clean in the summer. That’s my only beef with these shoes—dust tends to build up in the stitching because it’s almost 3D where the footbed is sewn in. A toothbrush (used for cleaning only obs) does the trick. This might become of the metallic leather on my pair as well—not sure.Style wise they look much less like an orthotic shoe on my feet than they do just sitting in my closet. I’m grateful to have this option.
This is the second pair of Finn Comfort Gomera sandals I have purchased. List price is $255 (paid $209 on Amazon) but Finn Comfort shoes are such great quality that they last for many years. I wanted a black pair and ordered the Black Points size 39 (8.5-9 US). Width is shown as D, but I found that by adjusting the 3 straps, they fit even my 2E width foot. The pair I purchased last year is identical to this one except for the color and is extremely comfortable. The Finn Comfort insoles conform to your foot as you wear them, making them even more comfortable over time. The insoles can also be replaced as needed since the shoes last so long. Well worth the price.
When I initially tried these on, they felt terrible! There were odd lumps and the straps seemed scratchy. I had tried on a pair in the store and had found them to be the most comfortable sandals I had ever worn, so did not give up on the fit. After readjusting the straps a few time, I found the sweet spot. They are wonderful! Not only do they support my high arches, they help me walk in a more natural, less twisty way. It was interesting. I felt little tightnesses in my foot muscles sort of melt away the more I used them. I also felt my leg muscles loosen in areas that have been tight for years. My plantar fasciitis is improving after many, many years of pain. Love these sandals and have bought 2 more pairs of Finn Comfort for work. Definitely worth the price to have pain-free feet for the first time in 10+ years/
Picture on Amazon showed these shoes with black soles. The shoes which were delivered had white soles! I would never wear dark shoes with white soles. Quick no for those shoes. The return process through Whole Foods was seamless….I appreciated being able to just drop them off at Whole Foods to return.
The desription of the Finn Comfort Gomera that I ordered states: "39 EU/8.5-9 B US". The shoebox that it came in says 39 EU is equivalent to 8 US. The shoes are wearable so I will keep them, but would have preferred just a tiny bit longer.
Have been wearing these Finn Comfort Sandals for years. First pairs purchased in Germany where they are made and wore them for years and years. They are extremely comfortable. Many styles to choose from and colors which is really nice. These shoes help you walk correctly and have even eased my back pain and leg pain, since so supportive of the feet. They were great to wear after my knee replacement since they gave me the stability I needed during recovery.
I have worn these shoes for ten years. I have every color. When you have too much wear on the insoles, you can order new ones instead of the entire shoe. My feet hurt all the time and it is very hard to find comfortable shoes. Each strap is adjustable. I wish I could find a winter shoe this perfect.
