When it comes to ballet flats, the Cole Haan Women's Avery Ballet Flat stands out due to its innovative technology and thoughtful design. Here’s a deeper look at what makes this shoe remarkable:
Comfort: One of the standout features of the Avery Ballet Flat is the Grand.OS technology. This dual compound cushioning system absorbs shock efficiently while providing energy return—you're likely to feel light on your feet, even after a long day of wear. The fully padded sock lining only enhances this experience, ensuring that you can walk comfortably all day long.
Style: With its chic black glitter exterior, this flat is not just a practical choice but also a fashionable one. The delicate grosgrain and tulle bow add a feminine touch that can elevate any outfit, whether you're going for a casual brunch or heading into the office.
Fit: While many users rave about the fit, some have noted that it tends to run slightly small. It would be beneficial to try them on in-store if possible or consider ordering a half size up for the best fit.
Durability: The rubber pods on the outsole contribute to its longevity, providing reliable traction and wearability. Whether you're walking on city streets or navigating indoor spaces, this shoe will hold up nicely over time.

I have no less than five pairs of Cole Haan flats. They are by the most comfortable flats I've found that don't look orthopedic. These are no exception. The color is a great neutral that will work with just about everything in my closet. The suede inner lip is very comfortable as well. Right out of the box, these shoes are a little squeaky, but I'm sure that will dissipate with wear.
It's at times like these that I kick myself for not buying multiple pairs of Air Bacara when it was available.Every single Cole Haan shoe I have purchased since then has been a disappointment--uncomfortable, no support, too narrow, too large, etc etc. These flats may as well be from a discount brand--there's no difference but the logo.
I ordered a size 9 but they were too big. I reordered a size 8.5 and still too big. The problem for me is they are too wide in the back. So 8.5 fits my toes just fine but it's too wide in the back so my heel kept slipping out. A size 8 wouldn't have resolved the problem because my toes would've been crammed. So overall, if the back of your feet are in the more slender side as mine are, these might not work for you either. Unfortunately they're not snug enough in the back. With a heavy heart I had to return both pairs and now, back to the drawing board.
Love this ballet flat! I bought the shoe for a Christmas party because I had ankle surgery recently and can't wear heels yet. I thought I would only wear it to the Christmas party, but it turns out that it is one of my favorite shoes at the moment. Can be dressy or casual and is comfortable to wear. Definitely recommend!
These are wonderful shoes! First of all, they are beautiful and well-made. Secondly, they fit well. I am normally an 8.5, so I ordered a 9 in these due to reviews. (I find I end up with 1/2 size larger in all my Cole Haan shoes, FYI). They are great, length-wise. They are a touch wide, though. I don't care and will wear them happily. What surprised me the most was when I put them on, there was significantly more cushion than any other ballet flat I've worn. I took them back off and looked more closely. What I saw was those 2 tan portions on the bottom of the shoe were a GREAT cushion. They were virtually invisible while the shoe was on, but looking at it in my hand, you can see they are actually like a 1/4" pad. So they cushioned on the outside of the shoe rather than the inside. How wonderful! This means I can use replaceable insoles if I like - and the cushions on the bottom are placed just so- so that when I walk, it feels almost like the shoe is helping me to walk. I love it! I'm only taking 1 star away because the 'regular' width is a bit more like a 'wide' width. And no, I do not have narrow feet. :) with all Cole Haan shoes I've tried, I still think they're missing an opportunity to develop a beautiful, stylish shoe and INCLUDE arch support. I don't know why they don't do that. I hate to add an insole, but I may. And like I said, at least with this particular shoe, an insole won't be a problem.
I LOVE COLE HAAN FLATS!Cole Haan flats are hands down the most comfortable flats I've ever owned. I was so happy to find these for less than $60, so I had to snatch a few pairs right away. I wore these straight out of the box without having to break them in. I can wear these comfortably ALL DAY without any pain. I recently used these as my walking shoes during my trip to NYC and lasted 14+ hours walking in them. Granted, I was tired from walking all day, but these flats held up.
These shoes looked nice and comfortable online, and I really like Cole Haan shoes (they fit me well and are usually fashionable yet comfortable). so I bought them. However, these were really wide on my feet and they look like they were made very cheapy- none of my other cole haans fit or look like these do. These are either a bad copy of cole haan or they are a bad style
I was worried about how comfortable these would be, but it’s like walking on a cloud. The raised parts of the sole add stability, the band of suede in front of the toe box is secure, but not too tight, and the back doesn’t slip at all. Without exaggeration, these are the best ballet flats I’ve ever had the pleasure to wear, and I *reaaaaally* hope I’ll be able to snag a second pair in my size before they’re all gone. I’d buy them all out right now if I weren’t on a strict budget. Also, I’m going to protect my investment and waterproof the suede parts. The patent leather sections are nice and durable, and I’ve successfully removed any color transfer marks with nail polish remover -- but one rainy day, and you’d have flats that look nice in front, but dreadful in the heels. In the meantime, I’m wearing some older shoes on my commute and slipping these on right before I walk into the office. They’re Cole Haan; I’m not taking any chances.
