The Capezio Girls 3800 Mary Jane Tap Shoe is an exceptional choice for young dancers starting their journey into the world of tap dancing. Designed with beginners in mind, this shoe combines both functionality and style to ensure your little one feels confident as they learn the basics of rhythm and movement.
One of the standout features of this shoe is its adjustable strap design, which allows for a customizable fit that keeps the shoe snugly on her foot during practice or performance. The addition of a shock-absorbing foam insole provides unparalleled comfort, helping to keep her light on her feet even during extended wear. Plus, the rubber patch on the sole ensures a non-slip grip, making it an ideal option for those who are still mastering their tap technique.

As you embark on your child’s dance journey, the Capezio Girls 3800 Mary Jane Tap Shoe stands out for several reasons. Starting with its design and fit, the adjustable strap is a game-changer for parents worried about finding the perfect size. This feature not only helps secure the shoe but also accommodates growing feet.
When it comes to comfort, the shock-absorbing foam insole is particularly noteworthy. Your child will appreciate this cushioning after long days of practice, reducing the fatigue that can come from tapping. Furthermore, the non-slip rubber sole ensures that she stays safe while practicing her steps, making this shoe a reliable partner in her dance education.
In terms of style, the removable clip-on bow adds a touch of flair, making the shoes not only functional but also visually appealing for performances or recitals. Capezio continues to honor the legacy of Salvatore Capezio by offering high-quality products that dance enthusiasts trust.
However, it’s essential to consider that the sizing might be a bit off for some children, so trying them on before purchasing would be wise. Additionally, the limited color options may not satisfy every dancer's personal style preferences.

My kid actually enjoys wearing these because of the comfort level. They're also adorable with removable and replaceable bowtie clips. They continue to be a big hit in the tan color as it seems to be pretty unique.
We were looking for so long to find a wide fit tap shoes and none of them were good fits. This is the first pair that firs perfectly. Leather is so soft but high quality. I would definatelly recommend this shoes.
I highly recommend ordering Wide for normal width feet, but the length is normal. My daughter is turning 4 soon, and wears 10.5 regular width runners from Geox (with some room still at the toe). I read the reviews advising to order 1 or 1.5 sizes up, as these Capezio tap shoes seem to run small and narrow. So I ordered 11.5W and thank goodness I ordered wide, as they are the correct width on her feet and will do nicely (with socks) to tap dance class. In hindsight, she would have been fine with 10.5W or 11W instead of 11.5W, but now these shoes will last for 1 more year if she chooses to keep up with tap.Great quality and great price (I got them for $26.99 for 11.5W but for some other sizes, they were as much as $36 or more). They're just like the picture. They also come with detachable clip-on bows. I ordered the black shiny ones, and she LOVED them. Our tap dance studio suggested attire is black tights or black tight fitting shorts, and black leotards (long or short sleeve) for tap class.
These shoes are fantastic! So cute and perfect for dance classes and recital. They come as shown and with a little bow you can optionally clip on. They seem much more sturdy than your typical cheap tap shoe and I expect them to last for a while. Based on other reviews saying you need to order a half size up, I decided to order a whole size up to leave growing room. I was a little worried about it but glad I did. Half sized up would be a perfect fit and a whole size insured me these will last through the fall but aren't too big for her now. It's a perfect fit and I also LOVE the velcro closure, the ribbons on regular tap shoes always come undone! My daughter wears a true size 7.5 but the recommended 8 (for growing room) in stride rite shoes. So I ordered the 8.5 and they're great.
Got these dance shoes for my tiny dancer. She loves them! I love the velcro closure and that the bows are removable. They do run a little small, as they are the smallest size I could get, and are technically a size larger than I needed for my girl, but they make her feet look like they are stuffed in the shoe. She doesn't complain, but they look a bit tight and the velcro closure is almost too small, and her feet are not wide or chunky, so it's not that! If she decides to continue dancing, I'll just size up, because the brand does seem to be really good quality.
The Capezio brand has always spoken for itself and these are no exceptions. The sizing fits exactly as my toddler's every day shoes - no surprises there which I appreciated so much when ordering online. The quality is great and we were just able to pass them down from my oldest to my youngest without compromising on the look - they survived a four year old who likes to perform at the dance studio AND our kitchen, daily. Will continue to splurge on the Capezio brand
High quality! Nice dance shoes!
My daughter is currently wearing a size 13.5 shoe, sometimes a 1. So when I read the reviews stating that this shoe ran small I decided to get a size 1, but after some extra thought I figured I should up it another half size so that she has some room to grow since she needs them for 10 months of dance classes. I should have just gotten the size 1. There was an extra 3/4 of an inch of extra space. Not sure if her foot will grow that much during the year, but I'll keep it anyway as the closure on the shoe is velcro and fastens the shoe pretty tightly to the foot so I don't have to worry about it flying off her foot. These shoes are definitely true to size, but will probably not fit a child with a wide front of the foot. But they are in no way narrow. Just a standard sized shoe. Overall, very nice shoes and great quality.
