My old shoes (also Pearl Izumi) were worn out --- the sole lugs were worn away, allowing the cleat to scrape on the floor, which is bad. These fit exactly like they did, thankfully, and look better.I have wide feet, and these are comfortable. The lugs on the sole are big enough so that my cleats no longer scratch the hardwood floors, which is good. They are called road shoes, but fit SPD cleats and have, as I said, lugs that allow you to really walk, like mountain-bike shoes. The Velcro straps allow for plenty of adjustment, and are not overly-complicated like some are.One caution: Amazon listed (for me, in the US, at least) US sizes, but my old shoes had European sizes. I got a 10.5, which when it came had European size 45, just what I needed.
The fit is just about right, a trifle wide in mid foot. Velcro straps are very stiff, but the latch well. Cleats installed easily.
It took me a while to find a bike shoe simple (Velcro) enough & wide enough for my flat feet. I’m in my 60’s weight 250’s and my feet are flat and wide. I normally wear 11’ because it’s hard to find wide shoes. These are comfortable and I can’t wait to try. They came w/out the cleats to clip in so I will have to wait til I get them . I’ve owned 3 other Clio shoes , and these fit the best right out of the box. Thumbs up for now, let see how long they hold up.
Some reviewers stated this shoe will fit wide feet. It does not. Might be a fine shoe for others. I returned them.
These bike shoes work fine for me. The sole feels firm when pedaling and they are light when walking. Installing cleats was no problem and they are recessed enough to make walking easy, but not recessed so much it interferes with clicking in. The velcro straps are simple to use and hold the shoes firmly on the feet. After only a couple rides, I cannot say much about durability yet, but these shoes look and feel solid.
Excellent shoes, fit great, very comfortable to bicycle and walk in.
For the price , and just kicking out a few easy miles , these are good . Not at all a stiff sole but a great walking pad on font and rear . Wish they were a bit wider for me EEE foot , but they will fit with a very lose front strap
I have been searching for a pair of cycling shoes like these for a very long time. I have documented Big Wide Feet (13 EE!) Put the shoes on with normal socks and they felt like slippers! Very Very Comfortable! Took a short 30 minute ride and my feet felt great the entire ride! The insoles are very supported and cushy! The soles are firm yet walking is not uncomfortable. Shoes were very easy to slip on and off! I can now say my feet are not the lim-fac anymore whether I'm on the road riding or spinning on my Lifecycle! Now we'll see how long they last!!!
