For a smooth ride on my electric bike, it's important to have shoes that are comfortable, durable, provide excellent toe protection, are of high quality, and provide exceptional pedal traction.I ordered the shoes 0.5 larger than what I usually wear, and they fit perfectly.
I bought these after having a nasty accident where my foot caught between my pedal and a large root at speed. Fortunately, I didn't break anything, but the bruising and recovery of my toes and metatarsals was long. The previous 510's were more comfortable and had better feel on the pedals, but for downhill, I feel so much better riding these, especially after a few rides when the soles were broken in a bit.They do start off very stiff, but I haven't had any pedal slips in several full bike park days. I ride these with OneUp platforms on a long travel DH bike.
Pros:1. ALOT of grip, I don't know what the stealth rubber sole is stealthy at but it's not grip, the grip/stickiness is undoubtable, seriously grippy (more on that in cons).2. The shoes feel like a tank, they're well constructed with what appears to be quality materials. Toe and heel protection is evident, the Poron material on the front and heel seems robust and durable.3. Elastic loop to tuck your laces into, no one wants to get laces caught in their crank4. Dries quickly, self explanatory5. Power transfer, the shoes have sufficient stiffness in the sole to not flex significantly under load, if you're coming from regular shoes like I am, be prepared to feel like you have some extra horsepower.Cons:1. Any flat pedals with pins; these shoes will hold on to for dear life, which is a matter of taste because once you have your feet in position in these shoes, shifting the position of your feet must be deliberately done by raising one's feet and repositioning them (not really a con, just something get used to).2. Ventilation, there's not much of it, so wear some cool socks.3. Stiffness, weight and slight bulk, the shoe is serious like Rambo, the stealth sole and insole performance dampen vibrations so well, the general feel of the pedals and trail are barely present, you'll have to sensitize yourself to them again once wearing these if you like to ride by feel.4. Price; These were on sale for ~$75 but the regular price is $119 and MSRP is $160. Wait for a saleWill update over time on the long term comfort, durability and performance but so far so good.
After stubbing my toe (still in pain 8 days later) riding at my local bike park… I decided to grab a pair of shoes more suited for downhill riding. I’ve spent the past two years with a pair of Fiveten Freeriders and while they’re great shoes for recreational mountain biking, they lack any level of real protection. That’s where these Fiveten Impact Pro’s come in. They’re solid but not beefy and provide a much much higher degree of protection in the toe and ankle area. Oh, and they’re very very very grippy, more so than the regular fiveten freeriders. (But maybe my old shoes were just worn out) I’m not sure you’ll find much better than this if you’re looking for a flat pedal shoe that provides excellent grip with a high emphasis on protection. These might be a bit much to wear on regular trails.. as they are a bit heavier and will trap more heat inside. For trail riding or recreational riding, the regular fiveten freeriders will be on my feet. When it comes to riding DH trails though, it’s a no brainer.
On my seventh pair of shoes in two years, trying to find something comfortable. Love the impact pro! wanted to get another pair the impact pro mids, are amazing! Even more comfortable, supportive! But the souls seem different, still real grippy on the pedals. It's so much quieter, walking around, a little softer. Incredible shoe, I'm buying a couple of more pairs.

I’m a die hard 510 fan, even after adidas took over, and I’ll wear them forever, but these are the most monumentally ugly 510’s I’ve ever worn. They aren’t black, they aren’t gray. They’re ugly. No venting. The rhino lining like heel and toe covers are bad looking and unnecessary imo. They are decently comfortable out the box, but will need to break in. Overall. 6/10. Wouldn’t buy again
