In terms of design, the Taos Women's Gift 2 Tan Sandal stands out with its chic appearance. The soft leather upper feels luxurious against your skin and is complemented by thoughtful stitching that adds character to the overall look. Additionally, the flexible rubber outsole offers excellent traction, ensuring that you can navigate various surfaces confidently.
When it comes to comfort, the Taos Soft Support™ footbed truly shines. It’s designed to cradle your feet, providing remarkable arch and metatarsal support to alleviate pressure points. This makes it a great option for long walks or extended wear. The Cool Recovery Foam® enhances this experience by allowing your feet to rest and recover, reducing fatigue throughout the day.
However, like many leather sandals, some users have noted that the Gift 2 may require a short break-in period to achieve optimal comfort. Once broken in, they typically become a favorite choice for warm-weather outings. Additionally, the color options are somewhat limited, which might be a consideration if you're looking for variety.

I was looking for a sandal to use when travelling that had good support, and read on a couple of travel sites that women have highly recommended this brand for all day walking. I have soooo many foot problems! My biggest though is that I have Morton's Neuroma, which is basically a tumor sitting on a nerve between my 3rd and 4th toe. (I had surgery to remove but it grew back.) Sadly, this means I basically cannot wear closed shoes, even running shoes, without excrutiating pain. I cannot even wear socks. I even play golf in sandals! The challenge is finding a sandal that does not press on the nerve (so nothing with a cross strap either) but gives me enough support to walk long distances over cobblestones. Frankly, I don't think it exists. That said,,,,,these sandals are extremely comfortable. Great footbed support include arches and even some metatarsal support. The leather is extremely soft and supple, which makes the sandals really comfy for wearing all day, but I am not sure how much lateral support it will provide for the purpose of heavy duty sightseeing type of walking. I am keeping them because they really are comfortable and will get me through at least part of a day. They are also very attractive (I got the pewter, which is nice and dark, but not black so they will go with black, grey, brown, or navy slacks, as well as jeans) so that makes them versatile and can go from casual day wear to dinner with a nice pair of slacks. The only thing I would say is about the size. As many others have mentioned, they do not come in half sizes. Many recommended ordering a size up if you are in between. I am an 8 1/2 and very often order a 9. So I ordered both the 8 and the 9 figuring I would return one or the other. I was a little surprised to find the smaller size 8 fit perfectly and the 9's were way too big. They are a little pricey, but the quality of the shoe does justify the price, they are nicely made.
I wear a 10 (41) and the sandals always fit just right. These are easy on my bunion (and hide the ugly thing) and very comfortable for a long day of walking. There is a little arch support, other Taos have more. They are well made and look good on my feet. I have owned at least 12 pairs of Taos sandals, and they make my feet happy.
These sandals are soooo comfortable. I have them in every color, and I regularly get compliments on them and questions about them from strangers on the street. I teach, so I stand for hours, and they take care of my feet extraordinarily well. They have great instep support and metatarsal support. Just wish I lived in a climate where I could wear them year-round!UPDATE: 6/3/2022 I just received the Pink Pearl, which makes my 12th pair of the Gift/Gift2 sandal (purchased over several years)!! A couple pairs have been replacements for pairs I "wore to the bone" in earlier years, but most of them have been purchased to have the range of different colors. As another reviewer mentioned, the pictures don't do them justice! They are a lovely blush shade (which is one of today's "cool colors" and a fave of millennials, I'm told). If you're looking for "Pepto-Bismol Pink" these are NOT in that shade-palette. If anything, they have a hint toward the peach-side of pink, which really makes them closer to a blush color than pink. As with the other Taos pearl finishes, they look slightly different depending on how the light hits them and how much and what type of light it is. When I first opened the box, I thought, "pink" but when I got them on and closer to a window, I noticed the peachy hue.In terms of sizing, the only difference I've noticed is that they are not quite as tight across the instep as previous pairs in both US and European sizing have been. I have a very high instep and I usually have to "work them loose" when I first get a pair of Gift/Gift2. I suppose it's possible that this pair was a return that the original purchaser had worn inside a couple of times and loosened for me... 😅 If that's the case, then thanks! 😊
Love these shoes good quality leather and support. Do not hurt your toes.
The appearance of this is good. Fit good. Very comfortable .
I could wear these all day anywhere. Very comfy, with good arch support and good quality. Great shoe.
Love this shoe
These sandals fit me like a glove. They are beautiful and have nice arch support. The price is right for this orthotic sandal. I have a different style of Taos that I bought probably 10 years ago and paid much more for that are just as great now as when I bought them. If you have foot or low back issues these are a good choice.
