Mephisto Women's Harmony Sandal Review

Color: lovely rose gold color with matching buckle. The rose gold is also very elegant, not too pink or bright. Just the right amount of sparkle without being too blingy. Looks great with shorts and skirts. Think sparkly neutral. Love it!Fit: these fit true to size in length. Compared to Birkenstocks, the Mephisto Harmony fit a normal to narrow foot better and the footbed fit closer to your foot shape. The overall effect is more refined looking. If you have wide feet, the footbed might be too narrow.Comfort: orthotic sculpted footbed with very good arch support and heel cup. I find the footbed more cushy than birkenstocks. Since I have narrow feet, these fit better as well.Perfect summer sandals to wear with a sundress or maxi dress. My favorite right now.

First thing to know: I have chronic sciatic nerve pain and finding comfortable shoes that are trendy is difficult.I wanted a copper sandal from another brand, but when I was in a department store, the sales lady told me that Mephisto shoes were more comfortable and I found that to be true after comparing the brands in store. However, the Mephisto sandal carried in store was definitely not my taste and not what I was looking for.I went home and found this version of the shoe and ordered it sight unseen.When they arrived, I was worried - they were so uncomfortable and felt like I was squeezing into the straps. I almost returned them! I was so upset.I walked around for about a day and "broke these in" - I AM SO GLAD I DIDN'T RETURN THEM! The leather straps now conform to my feet, the cushion in the sole is perfect and when I walk around for long periods of time I don't experience any sciatic pain.Also, I think that they are much cuter than the original copper shoes I wanted in the first place. These shoes are everything I wanted and more. Everyone asks me where I got them and no one suspects that they are a "comfort" shoe brand

Mephisto sandals were recommended to me by my knee doctor years ago and I've been a believer ever since, "converting" many other Birkenstock fans to jump ship to this brand as well. I've worn them as "slippers" around the house and for short errands for years and really like them. This was the first pair for me in quite a while and it seems like they have gotten smaller than they were in the past. I returned two other pairs recently- both the 9 M and the 10 M. This 11 M pair is two sizes up from my normal size of 9 or 9 1/2. Note: the red Nubuck leave your feet and socks red within an hour- I returned them for size issues but the color leaking was another issue; hence my star review. Feel and comfort wise, these Dark brown ones are great and feel awesome. I will add another note: When I got my first pair of Mephisto sandals years ago, it took a full week for my arch to get used to them, but that just tells you that my arch was so weak. I hope these new ones are as good as my first Mephisto. It's worth trying. PS these do go on sale on amazon, and it's worth waiting for that. These brown ones were so reasonable as they were listed as "used." I normally never buy used shoes but with the discount and the amazon return policy, I figured it could not hurt. When the sandals arrived, they were actually brand new, at least there was no wear on them. Wow. They are a great sandal.

Wore these out of the box. Even though my feet were very swollen, I let them out a about one hole for each strap and wore them all day with total comfort. I never go wrong with Mephisto sandals. They are superb. I always choose them first for style, comfort, and long wear. The quality is outstanding. They last forever. I love this design with the teal color with gold highlights. They look great on. You will love these sandals. The arch support is glorious.

Theses are very comfortable shoes, and have a stylish look. But be warned that they run about a size too small. I normally wear a size 40 (US size 10) in both Mephisto and Birkenstock. Initially I ordered my normal size, but I had to return them because of the strange sizing, the size 10 fit like a size 9. I ordered one size up to a size 41 (US size 11) and the fit was slightly large, but wearable. I love Mephisto shoes, but their sizing is very inconsistent. It’s a pain in the rear end to order your correct size and have to go through the extra work of returning the shoes because the manufacturer’s sizing is off.

8.12.2019 - UPDATE: Information gleaned from Birkenstock. Corkbeds will dry out and make them brittle. They should be sealed with a sealant and kept away from extreme heat sources. This may explain the dismal performance of my last pair, though they were NOT exposed to HOT temperatures during the time I had them. They were kept in my clothing closet and we use AC during the summer months almost continuously. I have never read anything on the Mephisto site about treating and protecting the cork beds. Well, bye bye Mephisto ........... I have now become a Birkie gal. I will contact the seller to see if anything can be done about this. I'm not expecting too much out of it. Seeing how the reviews don't seem to be not monitored by them.I've worn this style for more years than I can remember. For some reason they keep changing the name. I actually have on pair @ Mephisto resole at the moment that I've worn for over two years before needing repair.I love them so much that I'll buy them when I see them at a decent price just to have a spare. I purchased these last year and didn't need them until the other pair was sent out. They were shipped out on 6/21. I've been wearing this pair since then. So I've been wearing these for about 6 weeks. I can't believe how they fell apart in that time. You can see the damaged cork bed and the difference from the straps and sole which has a NORMAL wear pattern. For this price, it's unacceptable. I'm looking for another brand now.Like I said this is far from my first pair. I'm speechless.

They run large; the shape of the footbed is a little strange, and the leather straps are too stiff and not comfortable.
