The shriver hi is a thoroughly modern boot for the alternative fashion consumer with an extra chunky sole that elevates the wearer. A rugged heeled boot that gives a feeling of power. Care instructions - Wipe away dirt with damp cloth, ensure shoes are dry then apply Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam using the sponge applicator Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole.

I was eyeing these for a while and was scrolling Poshmark hoping to find them cheaper there. Nope- used and the same price if not more expensive. These look very similar to the Doc Martens Leona boot except those have hooks instead of eyelets for the laces. I figured the eyelets would look less edgy but either of those boots look great. Always wanted a pair of Docs but didn't like the flat sole so these are perfect with the little heel. I wear a 7.5 for sneakers and sized down to a 7 for these and they're still a little roomy but perfect with thick socks. When they arrived they were so beautiful I ordered the Wonder Balsam to protect them. The balsam was easy to apply and I hope I can take good care of these boots for a long time! Only worn them in the house for now but they're more comfortable than I thought they'd be after reading horror stories online (the top part is stiff and needs to be broken in more). I like them right now without any creases but I think they'll look good broken in too.
Very stylish and surprisingly comfortable. I have extra wide feet and thought these would be very tight in the toe box but I ordered my regular size and after a couple of wears, had stretched out and fit like a glove.
Wait til they go on sale (which they have several times this year) and grab them! I love the extra height I get without wearing heels. The matte finish is 😍. They’re 🔥.
I’m a size 6.5 but I ordered size six. They are almost perfect for my wide foot but I believe they will stretch nicely. They are very stylish. The perfect balance of chunky but not bulky. Easy to style with any outfit. Happy!
Great pair of Docs easy to break in (recommend double socks and the silicon heel guard in between layers for easiest break in) look great on and easy to walk all day in no problem
After many failed attempts to get the right fit with a lot of different shoes on Amazon I am so happy that I found these boots. They are very well made, fit perfectly (I am a US size 8 and that's what I ordered) and I love the style. It's been years since I've had Docs and these do not disappoint.
They are heavier than regular Docs but I slipped in some insoles and wear these to working a factory 50 hours a week. They are made of a nice leather and handle oil coating them and clean off pretty well. I did throw on leather conditioner and protectant before I wore them but I'm impressed none the less. I highly recommend these Docs!!!
I would suggest buying a half a size down. But I love them. They are heavy and bulky. So cute and sturdy and exactly what I was wanting.
