I tried 5 different Ariat boot styles. In addition to 2 other brands. (Thank you Amazon's "Try free for 7 days") The other brands were quick returns. It was worth the higher price for real leather that will last longer in the end.I narrowed it down to two lace styles and one zipper style. In the end I chose this style. I like that I have the flexibly of how tight I make my boots. Boots that go higher up my ankles to my calves can be snug. I know...ski boots were always a challenge too. A situation my sister-in-law had common with me. The reason for owning our own gear. The top eyelet is perfect for tightening without the rub against the metal hooks. (I don't know what those are called) It will save my laces so they'll last longer vs rubbing against the metal part when tying my boots. The boots fit snug without feeling too tight. The only thing I wish is that there was a more polished look to the leather vs the matte look this pair has. I will use them when I ride just for fun but will wear them mostly in my regular daily life.
These boots have a comfortable foot bed, but the uppers will need breaking in. They rub
I bought my boots back in January and they have lasted me so long! Easy to clean, comfortable to ride in once broken in, and 100% worth the money.
FINALLY!! I started out with these boots with the zipper, which didn’t work AT ALL. I don’t have an abnormally large or narrow foot, but the zipper just wouldn’t move in my correct size. I didn’t think the half size larger would work either because the length was pretty perfect.I went with an 8.5 in this boot, which is a half-size larger than normal for me; just because I didn’t want it too tight across the top, which seemed to be the issue with the zip ones. These work pretty well! They’re a tad on the loose side in the toe box being a half-size larger though. They’re genuine leather, so right out of the box they’re pretty stiff—any good leather shoe needs a good breaking in! I wanted these to work SO BADLY because of all the great reviews on them!! I want a good riding boot that’s leather and will last me YEARS. I hope I finally found one!!I honestly don’t know what to suggest for you readers. To go half-size up or stay true to size. For me, the half-size up seems to work better, but I don’t necessarily know why? Maybe it’s built for an extremely narrow foot...which I admit, I don’t have...but I also don’t have a fat or large foot either! When I discovered these fit me, I hurried up and sprayed them with the waterproof and stain protection...I want these to last as long as humanly possible! Especially since I’m going to be riding in them! I’m hoping the break-in doesn’t last TOO long...but again, they’re very stiff right out of the box, so you will need to break them in. Just consider that they won’t fit like they should IMMEDIATELY—they should get way more comfortable as time goes on! 😁Anyway, will update later if anything goes extremely wrong with these...if not, I’m HOPING these will be such a great boot for me!!
I absolutely love these boots.. virtually no break in time.. very comfortable
I have a really old pair of Ariats in my closet, and am hoping that these last as long. The black looks really sharp. They did scuff the first time I wore them, which sucked. Hoping I can buff the scratch out.
I love these boots! They keep the dirt out, slide in and out of the stirrups easily, and are suitable for around town and barn wear. So far they are holding up well to frequent use. The one bad thing is that they are not warm, so I will have to find an alternative for winter.
So comfortable!!! Excellent for work and in the yard
