Great shoes, super comfortable, look sharp, can stand in water and not get wet. Good grip on soles. The sole also feels like it is springy, almost feels like it makes you step correctly and so much less fatigued after a long day. Salomon are normally to narrow but these fit much wider then the normal ones
This is my second pair of these, though the previous pair had a lower back. I now prefer the higher back, and the two-tone grey color (my older pair are olive green) makes them stylish enough for dress - especially on rainy or snowy days. Very comfortable even without a break-in period. Though no width is specified, I generally wear a 13EE and I manage to fit into these 13's quite comfortably. I still have the older pair even after a year of fairly frequent use, and a strategically placed layer of Shoo-Goo (and maybe another one or two additions down the road) should keep them going for at least another year.
This is a repeat buy for us; it's a great shoe and my husband wears them everyday for everything!
I wanted to like these so badly, but I have plantar fasciitis and they hurt my feet, so I had to return them. Loved the looks, loved the way they fit, loved the tread... just couldn't make them not hurt my feet, even with different insoles. Not sure why. This is a personal issue though, and they seem well designed. They have an average amount of arch support, and the heel-to-toe drop feels relatively neutral for a hiking shoe, though not zero. I will say the toe box feels a lot smaller inside than it looks.
Waterproof shoes are a little bit warmer than other hiking shoes, but they keep your feet dry. I walk a lot through grass that is still moist from two, and it keeps my feet dry. Very comfortable shoes. And the soles last a long time.
If you are looking for waterproof hiking shoes, do NOT be fooled! These shoes are not waterproof despite the Gore-Tex markings on the side of the shoe. Your toes will be wet walking through grass after morning dew. These shoes are relatively comfortable in dry conditions and I like that they are below the ankle, but I could have bought any running shoe and saved some money. Do NOT buy these shoes if you want waterproof!
I bought these for my husband as a waterproof travel shoe. They look great and fit perfectly. (He wears a 13W or 14R. I got the 14R and they are perfect.)
Great foot support; great durability. These are the best hiking shoes I've ever owned
