When it comes to high-performance climbing shoes, the Mad Rock Redline Strap Climbing Shoe stands out for various reasons. From its innovative design to the use of advanced materials, this shoe ticks all the boxes for serious climbers.
Fit and Comfort: The stretchy and breathable tongue ensures that you feel comfortable and secure, even during extended climbs. The adjustable hook-and-loop closure allows you to achieve a snug fit tailored to your foot shape, making it easier to maintain focus on the climb. However, the aggressive downturned profile might not cater well to beginners or those who prefer a more relaxed fit.
Performance: Designed with a downturned shape and significant asymmetrical curvature, the Redline maximizes power transfer to the toe, which is essential when edging or pulling on steep rock faces. The lack of a midsole allows for natural foot flexing, giving you the freedom to adapt your movements dynamically.
Durability: Built with climbing-grade rubber and an innovative Power Upper featuring a negative texture, this shoe promises exceptional durability without compromising on grip. Whether you're tackling rugged granite or slick sport routes, the Science Friction 3.0 rubber sole delivers outstanding friction, boosting your confidence while climbing.

The most comfortable aggressive shoe I have found, yet also the best performing and longest lasting!I got a pair of these 10 months ago and they still climb good as new with no signs of giving out. I have a decent rotation of other shoes that I use so they certainly didn't get all of my mileage, but they have been by my most used pair of weapons since they were added to my arsenal, and it's not a close race at all. They can smear, they can toe/heel hook, they can edge, and they work just as well indoors or outdoors. I wear a size 10.5 in them, and I also wear a 10.5 in the drone LVs. I wear a size 10 for my street shoes which are exclusively Xero shoes.
It looks used even though I bought new and the shoe sizing is a few sizes too small.
These shoes fit my foot perfectly! I wore a 7.5 in Evolv Agros and got the same size in these. I've always had a little dead space in my arch, but not in the Redlines. The heel fits perfectly... I've been cramming my feet in climbing shoes for 18 years and I've never had the heel of a shoe fit as well as this one does. It wont budge on any heel hooks. The toe is pretty narrow and covered with rubber, so they work well in pockets and for toe hooks, bicycles and toe cams. Personally, I like to really be able to feel the rock/hold through my shoe so I know I've placed it exactly where I want. The Redlines, especially after some wear, do exactly that.If I'm bringing one pair of shoes with me to the crag, it's these ones.
