The EVOLV Kira Climbing Shoes are built with the serious climber in mind. From their vegan-friendly synthetic upper to their thoughtfully designed midsole, these shoes provide unmatched comfort even during long sessions. The single hook and loop strap combined with an adjustable finish-pull strap creates a secure fit that adapts to your foot's unique contours.
The slight down-cambered design enables precise foot placement, making it easier to tackle overhangs and technical routes. Additionally, the TRAX SAS rubber not only provides great traction but also enhances durability, which means you can rely on these shoes for many climbs to come.
One standout aspect is the molded VTR system, which strategically uses different thicknesses of rubber to reduce pressure points around the foot while ensuring the high-wear zones near the toe remain robust. This thoughtful design helps to increase performance without sacrificing comfort.
While the Kira might need some breaking in, once you find your perfect fit, you’ll appreciate the balance between stiffness and flexibility they offer. Just be aware that these shoes are not water-resistant, so they’re best suited for dry conditions.

I understand that rock climbing shoes fit smaller and that they are supposed to be snug and slightly uncomfortable. I even read in other reviews for Evolv shoes to go up one size. I am normally a size 7 and got an 8. They were so small I actually couldn't even fit my foot in the shoe. Returned and got a 9 and now they fit to the expected "snug" that they should be for rock climbing. Pictured here is the size 8 next to my size 7 work shoe. Other than the sizing, I love this shoe and it's worth the money.
I tried on every shoe at REI and at the climbing center. This one fit perfectly, comfortably and I have no blisters.
I am a beginner climber (indoor bouldering gym, never done outdoors) and wanted shoes that would help me with smaller toe holds to progress in my climbs. I go about 3x per week, I’ve had these for a couple of months, and I would say they’re pretty perfect beginner shoes! I am a true womens’ size 6, but I definitely would recommend sizing up at least half a size as even after they’ve been broken in, the stretch is still minimal. Nonetheless, I will continue wearing these until I wear them down and will purchase a half-size up if I purchase Evolv shoes again in the future.
Fit perfectly for my daughter. she typically wears a size 7 street shoe. Bought this as a 6.5. Snug fit, but is breaking in nicely. Holds well on indoor walls. Have not tried outdoors yet.
Just tried these one and a few things to note - the shoe is made out of vegan leather so less stretch than other leather shoes I’ve hadBased on the image I was expecting a slightly more aggressive shoe but it’s pretty neutral. Also the Velcro closure is nice but left a small part of the top of my foot exposed which was really weirdWill be returning
I got a pair of these for my birthday, I usually wear size 5.5 so that’s what I asked for. The first pair I could get on but were very tight. I had my dad order me another pair in a size 6 and these were even smaller than the size 5.5, I couldn’t even pull them on my feet. I had to return the 2nd pair and am now going to REI to get a pair there instead.
good quality but you need to size up... they are very small.
I received a different version of this shoe. Based on research that I did before ordering the shoe, the shoe shown in the Amazon pic is not the most recent version and the sizing has been updated (drastically changed) in the new version. As a result, the shoes didn’t fit as expected. Also note that the shoes arrived in an Amazon bag but with a Zappos return address on the label.
