NEW PAIR UPDATE: Well, these boots suck. They didn’t come all scuffed up with stains this time, but the right boot makes a popping sound that I can physically feel. I haven’t even taken them outside yet and the few steps I’ve taken in my home are driving me crazy (check my video). And the boot seems flimsy when I walk. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be like that because it’s my first Chelsea boot, but the material looks like construction paper when I walk. Very weird and folds everywhere. I’ll have to send these back. I don’t think I’ll waste my time trying to get another pair from Steve Madden. I’d take a hard pass on these, boys.OLD REVIEW: These “new” boots have clearly been worn a decent amount and cleaned heavily because the suede is already really nappy and has minor stains upon arrival. Very very small parts of suede are actually gone because of the rigorous cleaning and scuffs. The most noticeable part and the reason I’m returning these is the stain that someone buffed out. These boots are still very presentable and look pretty nice, but I didn’t pay for a hand me down. I paid for new(ish) boots. I get that you guys can’t just toss everything that isn’t brand new and I don’t expect an entirely new boots, but I will be sending these back to hopefully receive another pair that’s in better condition. The only reason I’m sending these back is the stain on the upper of the right boot. One other glaring problem is that the tongue pokes out really far making it difficult to have the nice classic jean over the boot look that Chelsea boots give. Everything else was tolerable. I’d love to give these another go.
