Our kids are hard on boots and we typically buy Ariats, Tony Lomas or other good leather boots because they grow out of them before they wear out (barely). The problem is all the mud and other things that get on boots around a larger property can be a little difficult to clean off. The kids are only a few weeks into wearing these boots, but they seem to be built like my adult Mucks (which is good). I asked our oldest today how they were, and was promptly told (with a smile) that they were awesome! The comfort seems to be on par with Ariat boots, but they are so much easier to clean (and don't get as dirty doing the same thing). We have hiked decent distances in woods, on gravel roads, and in the creek without any complaints about sore/wet feet. The new rule is Ariats for dry and Mucks for everything else. These will get purchased regularly for the kids as they grow out of them.8 month edit: growing out of the first pair and they have held up exceptionally well. Our oldest still loves them and is asking for the next size up (we bought a size big originally). These were worn every day throughout the summer/fall and became the "go to" boots whenever any outdoor activity was done. The normal shoes we bought saw very little wear because these were almost always worn. Looking for larger sizes now, which reminded me to update the review.1 year edit: Went to pack the old pair away for the younger kid and didn't believe the oldest when I was told "but these are the old pair" (had to check the label and apologize). We are already looking to stock up on the next few sizes because they are just that good. This is one of the best purchases I have made for a long time. Happy parent that doesn't have to worry about mud, rocks, brush, snow, sand, creeks, or any of the other boot hazards. The only downside is stock and trying to order them.
I original wanted to get child size 3 but it was sold out. So I took a chance to get size 4. I tried them on. To my surprise they fit! They’re so comfortable and warm. The reason I choose the boots is my son’s and daughter in law’s recommendation due to us living on the rugged farm. So perfect. I’d highly recommend this brand name.
I have a pair of this brand of boots that I use and find them to be excellent muck boots, so I bought a pair for my 6 year old nephew to wear when we go digging for crystals.Good, sturdy boots. He likes them so much he wears them even when we are not digging for crystals.
Bought for my grandson and the quality is great. True to fit I will buy these again when he outgrows these
I don't mind paying the money for these boots, because they last. They are thick, insulated, and water proof! Both my kids will wear these and I will continue to buy them. We wear them in the snow, mud, rain, playing in the creek. I have a pair that is 7 years old and yoi can't even tell. Just a well made boot.
Outdoors with a five year old boy in the woods and stream often. His other boots were getting to small and was looking for something that would pull double duty for hiking and walking through streams. Mom (me) has awesome Hunter and Sperry boots, but I really appreciate these boots for the more pliable upper fabric of these Muck boots. I also really like the stronger toe hold...its not a steal boot obviously, but provides pretty good protection. They are more than just a rain boot, but very good for all kinds of water, mud, bogs, etc. He likes them and I am hoping they stand up to our rigorous outdoor adventures.
My child has a high instep and we couldn’t get it on his foot . Wasn’t the boot it was his foot!
great boot. Delivery time was wayyy to long.
