I purchased these for a 100 mile walk in England this past summer. Merrill Moab’s are comfortable right out of the box — no break-in period needed. This is the second pair I’ve purchased. The first pair were not the Gore-Tex version. These were worth the extra money, and the price was right.
I used these to hike in Costa Rica and these were very comfortable. These exceeded my expectations. I was afraid they were going to rub my heel or something and they didnt.
This boot is the most comfortablre hiking boot I have worn. I am repeat buyer, as I have tried many other brands usually more expensive but I always go back to Merrill. I am an avid birder, over 60, hiking about 20 miles a week in total. This boot is waterproof, breathable and excellent support for long periods of standing in the field when birding. They usually last me about 6-8 months. Love my Merrills!
I ordered the older version and this newer version and I couldn’t tell a difference. Both felt equally comfortable and fit well. I did order a half size larger to allow more room in the toes box and I’m glad I did. Wore these hiking 3 hrs at Bridal Veils Falls in Telluride up and down rocks as well as rock climbing in Joshua Tree Natl Park and feet felt great afterward. Highly recommend!
