I love how streamlined and sleek they are. They aren't bulky at the ankles (I've noticed when you buy an ankle boot and they are wide at the ankle-that is not flattering at all) and are pretty comfortable. As for the quality, I think they are a good buy. They're leather, even if you buy them in faux leather they are still going to be expensive and I don't think it's worth spending upwards of $80 for boots made of material which will never have any "give". Leather will conform to your foot, which makes them almost custom. Quality, and if you take care of them, water proof and stain proof, they should last as long as they are fashionable. I haven't received them yet, but a coworker has.

I love this boot. It has a narrow shaft which is good for me since I have thin ankle and legs. I am a size 10 but the 10 felt too big so I went down to a 9.5. They were a little tight while breaking them in but now fit perfectly. I do make sure to wear a thin sock.
I love Matisse boots! They are as comfortable as my tennis shoes to me. I have to dress up daily for work and these are perfect for all day wear. I have black and brown now! 😍
I’ve been looking for boots that go just below my mid calf for so long and these are the perfect addition. They fit great. The first time I wore them I had them on for 8 hours (standing most of the time) and my feet never started hurting or aching. Felt totally supported and comfortable the entire time and I got so many compliments on them. Amazing quality. I’m a snakeskin freak so I’m very picky and these look fantastic!!! Will definitely be buying in more colors.
I had bought one pair of these in the color fawn and love them so much that I needed more! I bought the gray/blue snake which runs a little stiffer than the suede one but still is wonderful. I also ordered the whiskey colored boot but was shipped another pair in fawn which I returned. . I tried to re-order in whiskey but noticed that once again they were shipping fawn so I canceled that order. Still so happy with these. Would love to get another pair in whiskey. I also bought a pair 1/2 size larger because I wear orthotics and these also work beautifully.Just bought 2 more pairs!!! I have every cowboy boot imaginable but these are,by far, the most comfy and sleek. Love my Matisse!
Ankle is not flexible because the calf is so fitted, but overall the boot is gorgeous. Just make sure to massage your ankle at the end of your day and don’t wear these boots for long walks.
Don't buy the black snake style. The leather is so stiff the boots bruised my ankles/shins, visible bruises when I wore them. Hurt so bad! I love this brand and the other Caty boots I own, but the black snack leather booties have a very bad flaw, the shaft of the boot is way too stiff and does not get better with wear AT ALL. I would have returned them, but only wore them recently, a few days after the return window closed. I will never wear them again. A waste of $200. When I got them I only tried them on for fit and did not wear them but a couple of minutes. They seemed a bit stiff but thought it would loosen and never imagined it would actually end up hurting so bad and cause welts and bruising on my shins. Huge waste of money! So disappointed. Wish I could exchange for a different, less stiff pair.
