Used the boot a number of times on its own, with snowshoes, and with micro-spikes. The boot kept me warm and dry and I appreciate the full rubber toe. I like the hight of the boot, which meant when the snow wasn’t too high I didn’t have to wear gators. The lace hoop is super helpful attaching to gators or snow pants. This is my first pair of keens - I like them way more than anticipated. I got a size 9, my true size and they fit great with my winter hiking socks. I have a slight narrow very flat foot and these are super supportive! I hope to get many years of use.
Normally wear a size 7 but after reading comments decided to go 1/2 size larger. Glad I did as it worked well for me with double socks and has room to add a foot warmer if necessary for a snowy vacation. If you don't need the extra warmth or have a normal width foot I'd go with your regular size. Love them. They were very comfortable and look like regular hikers.
I love these boots so much! I tried another popular brand first that were too narrow and tight in the toes, and also had no arch support. These keen boots feel SO much better! My feet and ankles feel well supported and my toes have plenty of wiggle room. These also have very good arch support for my flat feet! I usually have to use special inserts but don’t need to use them with these boots.I have not tried on ice yet but can verify that they are water proof- it rained hard and I accidentally stepped in a deep puddle- my feet and socks stayed perfectly dry. The insulation is great too- my feet stayed warm in the freezing rain. Solid, very well made boots! Highly recommend!
Good, sturdy boot. Waterproof, warm, but a bit clunky. Good for heavier snow situations.
I LOVE Keens...I have about 5 pair of the hiking sandals. Total life changer. So I thought I'd try the boots! Most money I've ever paid for boots in my life. Well... the saying goes... You get what you pay for. These are fantastic! You'll love them!
While I usually wear an 8.5 shoe, I noted the recommendation to go up to a 10. It is a bit roomy but solved with wearing heavier socks. I have worn the boots quite a bit since I received them and I am so happy I selected this brand and size. They are warm and comfortable. The best part, I feel safer walking on icy / snow patches. I will check this brand first if I ever need boots again in the future.
I have been buying keen boots for 13 years. I am a rural carrier for the Postal Service. Keen provides comfortability with functionality. Now, they are stiff, uncomfortable and where is the extra toe space!? My toes are cramped. No room for my toe warmers anymore.
These booths kick butt! Well made, warm, waterproof, great sole for winter hiking. I have wide feet
