When it comes to choosing a dependable pair of rain boots, the Hunter Footwear Women's Original Tall Back Adjustable Rain Boots do not disappoint. First introduced in 1856, these boots are a testament to Hunter's commitment to craftsmanship. The combination of vulcanized natural latex and handcrafted assembly creates a product that not only looks good but also stands up to wet and muddy environments.
The adjustable design with a buckled strap at the back caters to those with wider calves, allowing for a more personalized fit. This feature significantly enhances comfort during wear, especially during long walks through wet landscapes or urban environments.
In terms of comfort, the cushioned footbed provides excellent support. However, potential buyers should note that while these boots excel in keeping water out, they may not be as breathable as other footwear options. This means they might not be the best choice for hot summer weather.

Just got these a week ago. Haven’t had a chance to use them yet. Bought them for beachcombing our Oregon beach during winter. They go high enough to be able to walk close to water searching for agates. Can’t wait to try them out.
I’m not a wide calf yet I am not a small calf. I’m normally 6 1/2 but will do 7 in boots for room for thick socks. I previously bought the original side buckle version, and it fit well in the foot but very snug in the calf. I wanted to wear hunter boot socks(they resemble holiday stockings!) so I also bought the rear adjustable buckle, and it’s perfect! Now I have a set and rotating them with my wardrobe needs will ensure a long life of each set. I will also say, they are of true and high quality. My feet aren’t sore at the end of a day so the arch support must be adequate! These are tall so if your calves are shorter than average, you might have an issue. I’m 5’5” and average build, these are a perfect height for me.
We are heading to southern Oregon for a couple of days during their rainy season and a couple friends suggested getting a pair of Hunter boots. I purchased these because a number of reviews on the other styles said that the shaft was a little narrow. These boots are perfect! There is room for adjustment! I have the buckle almost all the way closed at the top of the boot but there is a lot of room to adjust if you need it. They fit true to size and I will be able to wear with a thicker cotton sock. I love the look and the way these boots fit. Thank you Maureen and Angie for suggesting these boots!!
Love Hunter Boots! 100% waterproof in ankle deep water👍🏻
My first pair of Hunter boots! Got the matte black with the adjustable back. They are authentic and great quality. I was concerned about the size. I read all of the reviews. I am in-between an 8.5 and a 9. I have a wider foot and a high arch/ instep. I decided to go down to the 8. Based on other reviews, I was afraid the 9 would be too big, heavy, clunky or make my feet look big. The 8 fits with just a tiny bit of room in the toe, snug with thick socks. They are also snug across the top of my foot because of my high arch. I am keeping them because I’m going out of town this week but I think I may have preferred the 9. I would say if you are in between a half and a whole size like me, go up to the whole size to allow for thick socks and comfort. Hope this helps. These are beautiful and worth the price. Shipping was fast too.
Good quality. Go 1 size down. Choose the color black. Haven't worn as yet, no rain off late
Ok this was my 3rd style and 4th size I ordered and I FINALLY hit the jackpot with these. The regular tall boots did not fit on my calf so I returned them and ordered them in Wide. Those ones came and the ankle part of the boot was huge and the calf still didn’t fit. So I returned those and ordered these ones based on reviews. They FINALLY fit and are super comfortable. I don’t think I have massive calves so it’s a bummer that the regular ones are so tight - even my really thin friends find them to be snug. So these are a great option if the regular ones don’t fit. AND they’re like $35 cheaper on here.I normally wear an 8.5-9 and I first ordered the 8 because I thought they’d run large. They were too small so I retuned and got the 9 and they’re perfect.
A pair of Hunter boots was at the top of my wife's Christmas list this year. So buying her a pair online was quite a daunting task, as I had a few things working against me: 1) I'm a guy who knows nothing about boots 2) I've messed up boot sizing before. My first mistake was a pair of Michael Kors boots I gifted her last year that were just a tad too small. After that I vowed to do my homework a bit better and try my best to either avoid sizing mistakes or just avoid buying boots again. But alas, she likes boots so I must succeed with the Hunters, one way or the other. However, my journey to purchase Hunters were not without missteps. My first order I mistakenly ordered the "original" and not the "adjustable", as I thought they were all adjustable. Nope, I was wrong. Original ones will not work with muscular, athletic calves. I think they will accommodate somewhere around a 13-14 inch calf, but my wife is bit larger so I knew the original Hunters would have to go back.I knew the adjustable ones were the correct style, but now I was having second thoughts about the actual sizing. She takes an 8.5 in athletic shoes and a size 8 in Uggs, so without 1/2 sizes, the question was: Should I get an 8 or a 9 in Hunter boots?Tough question because some of these sellers (as it was in my case) are shipping from the UK and a wrong size would be a costly mistake to make.I finally decided going up to a size 9 (as she was a size 8 in Uggs with larger calves) would be my best bet and in the end it all worked out for me - Amazon let me return the wrong size and I was able to order the right ones. Despite a return and having a new pair shipped in from the UK, they still made it in time for Christmas...much to my wife's enjoyment, as they fit perfectly. In the end it was a bit of trial and error, but the sizing worked out. She was happy and we had a nice rainy and muddy Christmas day for her to enjoy her shiny new boots.
