I wore Docs all the time in the 90s and again just after college, 20 years ago. I was excited to have a pair back in my life. After the initial 1-week break-in period (I was prepared for the blisters), my Docs feel like they’ve been an extension of my body just like they did when I was a teenager. So, so happy with the purchase.
I've been eyeing these boots for a while now, and I finally decided to buy them. I'm very happy with them! They are so cute and fashionable, they go with everything!I bought the size I usually wear (9) and they fit just as I expected them to. They have the perfect amount of room inside for you to comfortably wear socks. They are very sturdy and extremely well made! They don't feel heavy to wear but they are heavy to hold! I feel like I could kick a house apart with these on.Getting them on for the first time is a serious task. But after a couple wears they slip on fairly easily! The rubber bottom is VERY loud and squeaky at first, they sound exactly like SpongeBob's squeaky boots! My only complaint is a pretty obvious one, breaking them in sucks. The top part of the boot goes well above my ankle, almost to the beginning of my calf, and it is very tight. I wore them around the office where I do minimal walking, and I was still suffering in pain most of the day. My legs were raw and I have a cut on the back of my ankle. I'm hoping the top part will stretch out after a few more wears. The burgundy color is pretty dark but the tag says that it will become more pronounced after continued wear and polishing. I prefer the more subtle look though.Other than this I'm very happy with these boots and they are WELL worth the money! I think they will last a very long time!
These killer boots run large so size down, but they are incredibly comfortable and super stylish for me (a woman) even though they’re marketed as mens. I have high arches and lean toward wide and wear a 10 in most brands but always order a 9 in Docs. These boots are perfect. Elastic gusset in the inside leaves room for high arches even with a zip on the outside. Comfy from the first wearing. No break in time needed! These will be in regular rotation with everything from jeans to dresses. Perfect, solid, great quality Docs.
These are great looking boots but they run large-like 2 sizes too big. I wear a size 9 and after reading the reviews, I ordered an 8. The 8 were way too big, and my heels slipped out with every step. I then ordered a 7 and they fit much better than the 8. They were a little snug at first but after wearing them twice they have stretched out just enough and now fit great. Love these boots but surprised at how off the sizing is.
Leather is falling apart in 4 months.
It took 3 orders, 2 returns, and several chat sessions to get this order right. The product listing says unisex boot. I know my size in this brand from other purchases, so I ordered a (unisex/men’s) 6. I was sent a women’s 6-was too small. I ordered a replacement and realized the same thing happened again. When I add this boot to my cart it converts from unisex to women’s sizing. The same thing happened for a few customer service agents. The third time I ordered a unisex/men’s 8, was sent a women’s 8, which is the size I needed. The boot itself is great. The leather is very stiff, not at all supple, but they are still comfortable.
My arches are very high and these are difficult to put on. Once I've managed to pull them on they are quite comfortable. The Lucchese boot folks say wear your new boots through a creek then wear them until they are dry, so I am going to try that.
I wanted a pair of shoes I could wear with anything in my closet and these are those shoes! They can go from the office to a night out listening to a band at your local dive bar. They look cute with pants and jeans and skirts and dresses. I haven’t worn them with shorts yet, but I bet they would elevate that look too. Speaking of elevate, those lug soles will give you those extra inches of height that will have you strutting into the room like an Amazonian goddess. They are heavy, no doubt, but what’s the point in stomping around in little ballerina flats? You are a force of nature and your shoes should be too. You don’t forget leg day with these clunkers. I think my calf muscles have toned just by repeated wear of these booties. As for sizing, these are fairly standard docs. They might be a little roomier to be honest, but that allowed me to add some arch support to them and it has made them so comfortable I can’t believe it. These inserts in a women’s 5-6 fit perfectly inside these Chelsea boots in size 7. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BS9LWH6M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1The first day they were a little rough on my ankles, but I just wore some thicker socks to protect the lower part of my leg until the leather softened a bit. It only took a day or two before they were perfect.
