We live in S.E. Wisconsin. The boys (7 and 10) have worn these hiking in 20°F & 4” snow with snow pants. They love them. The traction, fit, warmth and waterproof-ness are all good. Our 7 year old wears them to school as his “all-day” shoes during the winter. Will buy them for another season. These are great intermediate winter shoes/boots. They are not replacements for their Baffin snow boots but they fill a niche for that in between wear. When a sneaker is not warm or dry enough but when the big snow boot is too much, these are the solution. Finally, they look pretty cool too.
The boots are very good quality but they run small. So if you plan to buy , buy 1 size big.
Got these for my son’s first hike. Through rocky, sandy and wet terrain, these boots held up and kept his feet warm and dry. After a week of hiking, these boots still look practically new, and kids can be extremely tough on their footwear. Don’t hesitate to buy these.
Good kids hiking shoe at an affordable price. My son wore them for the first time on a fairly rugged mountain climb this weekend and never complained once. Very satisfied.
I love these boots. But if you are thinking about buying these. Consider getting a size or two bigger.
The sneakers are very comfortable and warm. True to its size. I normally wear a boys 5 1/2 but they don’t have half sizes. So i ordered a 6 fits great to me.
The laces on these broke only after 3 weeks of my son wearing them. :-( And a second pair has had the same thing happen and we're only a few months into school. That's 2 pairs out of three that the laces have broken. These are not cheap and I can't even return them here. Trying to see if Columbia will do something about this.
My son loves these. Keeps his feet dry and good for school
