If you are in doubt, let me help you. YES, buy them. I have small thin feet, I was worried they would look weird and big on me… but I was wrong. I ordered a size up. Usually I am a 5/5.5 but on these I ordered a 6. THEY don’t ARE SUCH A GOOD PAIR OF BOOTS. They are definitely water resistant, I went trekking in some mountains and volcanos in Ecuador and these held up pretty good. I still suggest getting waterproof hiking crew socks just as a precaution. The inside material is comfy and keeps your feet and ankles sturdy and warm. The color and the laces were also very cute!
These are extremely comfortable. I got these for work and am able to wear them 10 hours without getting sore feet. Unlike the tennis shoes I had before. But these shoes are not only comfy they are super cute. I love the pink laces, giving it some color while still being brown so they won’t look so dirty when they get mud and dirt on them. They are not very heavy or bulky and the laces won’t easily come untied on their own. I’m a size 8 1/2 and you definitely want to go up a whole size I got 9 1/2 and they fit perfect
Very comfy. I ordered 1/2 size up. And they are still pretty snug. I can't wear my smart wool socks, I have to wear a thinner sock. Overall very happy with them. Wore them 8 hours first time with no issues.
These boots look really good, high quality. They are pretty comfortable and true to size, but I wish I had thought to wear them around a bit to break them in prior to going on an all-day hike.
Great winter hikers. Water and snow just beads off of them and the mud I walked through did not get stuck in the treads. They also have great support. An additional benefit was the availability of a wide width in most sizes, allowing me to use a heavier sock and not have the shoes too tight in the toe-box. .
These are so comfy! I hiked many miles in Glacier National Park in these. No break in period. They have arch support so my feet didn’t get sore at all. I did 10 plus miles a day and didn’t even need to sit to rest me “feet” at all. They are cute too.I think they may run a little small. I usually wear an 8.5 and I had to order the 9. I don’t know if my foot has changed though because I noticed another pair of shoes (different brand and also 8.5) that I ordered were also too small.I am 5’4 and well over 200 pounds. I also have a high instep and plantar fasciitis.
I bought these hiking boots primarily for moving through the woods over damp rocky ground. Slippery mud and stones are not a problem with these boots on. Fallen branches and leaves are not a problem for these boots. Rooted terrain ...no problem! Perfect fit. Beautiful color. Total comfort. Excellent support. They increase the benefits of hiking. Easy to put on and take off too. I was actually surprised how the comfort lasts for hours.
I have always worn Columbia hiking boots and have always ordered my athletic shoe size. I recently ordered a pair of Newton Ridge hiking boots and ordered a 9.5 (my athletic shoe size), they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I wanted a mesh and leather style so I ordered the Crestwood in a 9.5. I loved the boots but couldn’t get them on easily with my wool socks. I changed to a thinner sock and still had trouble getting them on. When I managed to finally get them on they were so uncomfortable. My foot was crammed into the end of the boot and it was so painful that I couldn’t walk in them. I would have reordered in the next larger size but the seller charged $6 shipping to return the boots and I didn’t want to pay shipping on another return if they didn’t fit. Nowhere did the seller mention that they would charge for shipping on returns.I went to a Columbia store to try on boots instead of buying online. I found the sizing to be inconsistent among the women’s boots. I tried on 4 pairs of boots all size 9.5. One pair was all leather and the other three were mesh and suede. The first pair I tried on fit perfectly and were all leather. The next three pairs ran small. Everything from my toe hitting the end of the boot to couldn’t get my foot into the boot. I was wearing no show sock liners instead of socks the day that I tried on the boots. I concluded that the all leather boots like the Newton Ridge tend to fit true to size while the mesh and suede boots like the Crestwood tend to run very small.
