Always heard great things about Clarks. These do not disappoint. Amazing. Real, high-quality leather uppers. Real soft-leather lining. Solid stacked-leather heels, not leather veneer like most "stacked" heels these days. Real crepe-rubber soles (with a stiff leather midsole). Beautiful finish, not too glossy, but will definitely take polish. In recent years, I've found that size 10 runs small in a lot of shoes, but I ordered a 10, and these fit perfectly. Very comfortable, right out of the box, and they will likely get more so as time goes by. Very happy with this purchase.
These are a great looking pair of boots! They run about half a size big, so order accordingly. I love the look of the Clarks Originals crepe soles, but don't like how thick they typically are, or how grungy they start to look after a year of wear. Compared to Clarks Desert Boots (taupe suede) and Wallabees (beeswax leather) I've owned, I'm extremely happy with these Gobi boots. The olive suede color is spot on, and the leather feels like it has a finer nap than the Desert Boot suede. The wooden heal and thinner crepe sole are both attractive and comfortable, and feels like a step up from the 100% crepe soles. With the Wallabees I almost feel like I'm at a risk of rolling an ankle because the crepe soles are so thick, whereas with the Desert Boots that's not a problem. The elastic bands on the sides feel thick and of good quality, so I'm not worried about them wearing out anytime soon. Wearing these with a pair of dark denim jeans looks great. Looking forward to putting many miles in these boots!
This is a really comfortable shoe. One of the reasons I like shoes by Clarks. It has stretched as it has gotten broken in so please take that into account when ordering. I ordered a half size larger instead of going for the wide since the wide was out of stock. The show still fits good but is not as tight as when it is brand new. Those who have owned real leather shoes before know what I am talking about. I don't know what happened with the people who recommend going a size lower, mine is pretty close to what i have experienced with other shoes. Don't forget to protect the leather in case you get caught in incremental weather like I did. The shoeshine took care of the problem and is worth the money.
First of all, wifey and I are big fans of Clark's. They last FOREVER. Very well made. This pair is no exception. The color is called olive but I would call it more of a greyish beige. Whatever, it looks great. The quality of the suede seems to be top-notch and the sole seems to be very good quality. It fits just right and looks great with a pair of jeans.Make sure you order a HALF size smaller than what you normally wear. They run large.
I wear consistently 12 M and this boot is at least 12 1/2 if not 13, I still can wear them, great quality as usual for Clarks. Take size in to consideration when ordering
Love these boots! They look awesome, super comfortable from the start (did not need to break them in), very well made. If you can find a pair, grab em! Not sure if they’re making this style anymore, which would be a shame.
Some of the reviews say to buy a half size smaller. This might have been true for them but in my case I bought my exact size,10 medium, and they fit perfect. I'll give an update after I spend eight hours on my feet as a security officer. Also they are made in Vietnam.
The look of the boot in the fit were fine. I was pretty disappointed in the type of rubber used for the soul. After only a few days of where the soul had tiny wear marks all the way around the outside edge. It gave the boot a very worn look rather than looking like a new boot. I’m hoping that overtime the rest of the soul doesn’t wear like the outside edge. Time will tell. Too late to return, but won’t look for this brand in the future.
