Review for Ad Tec 8” leather Farm BootSize 12 Wide. Sizing is true to size and no appreciable difference in sizing between this boot and Rocky or Keen brand boots. This boot far exceeds my expectations for a boot in this price range. It is a basic unlined leather boot made from what appears to be excellent quality leather. The box toe is roomy and comfortable when wearing medium weight work socks. The insole is adequate but not exceptional. There is moderate arch support built into the boot itself and additional arch support could be added with the addition of appropriate insoles. The tongue is sueded leather and lightly padded. The tongue is gusseted for the first 2 1/2” - 3”. I would prefer the gusset to extend at least half way up the tongue so be advised if you require this feature in your boot. For my use the limited gusset is fine and is somewhat cooler in hot weather. The tongue stays in place when the boot is laced up and is very comfortable. The laces are top notch and the lacing hooks are high quality and strong enough that I can’t bend them closed with one hand. The soles are typical and commonly used on this type boot. This type boot used to be referred to as a “carpenter’s” boot although it usually had a moc toe instead of a box toe. I specifically wanted this type sole because it does not pick up mud while also being thick and comfortable. This would be a disadvantage if you are working outside on uneven terrain and need deeper lug soles for traction. This is an excellent boot at twice the price, very well built and very comfortable with a roomy protective box toe that gives moderate protection without the need for a steel toe in normal conditions. Takes a couple of days to completely break in but not uncomfortable to begin with. I have no idea how this boot with a Goodyear welt construction can be sold for the current price and my guess is it won’t be for long especially with economic conditions and inflation being what they are.
These boots are fantastic, they state in there advertising "These are not through away boots. like some" Um they are not kidding! Quality is $300.00 Thorogood level same materials and bottoms are no different then the 1957's from Thorogoods! and for $66.00 bucks I am getting one more pair. These wides.... are in fact WIDE! If you are worried about the cold etc... you can place a space heater in your boot they are wide... IF you don't like that free swimming feeling then you's better get the "D" width. As for me I want Winter socks and a set of inserts so these are SPOT ON PERFECT WIDTH AND SIZE! I am more than estactic about these boots. I truly promise... You will be too get them before everyone realizes this and the price goes up. 100 Stars, not just 5 stars. Seriously... Time to beeswax them so I'm outta here buy 'em!
I've probably got about 30 hours of hard use in these so far, and I'm pretty happy with them. They are comfortable out of the box. The leather is pliable and the soles are soft. These are not a daily boot for me; they are mostly used on the weekends when I put in long days in my backyard orchard, digging, planting, pulling, filling, etc. So far, they are worth the money. My primary concerns are the following: The sole is soft, so the edge of a shovel seems to chew them up a bit. Also, the soles are smooth, so they probably weren't the greatest choice for me since my property is mostly sloped, and rocky. This isn't a defect, just maybe not the best sole for me. Also, in my experience, soft soles mean they'll break down fast. That hasn't happened yet, but we'll see. Ultimately, I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a comfortable, rugged boot out of the box. I'm not sure how they'd hold up to hard daily wear, but so far they seem up to the task.
I was looking for an all around "soft" work boot without a steel toe. I had recently purchased the AdTec Logger on Amazon for a great price and free shipping with Prime. These boots just look comfortable and with what I saw from the Loggers, this was a no-brainer. They are exactly what I wanted. Comfortable with no break-in period, thick sole and heel for plenty of wear and nicely put together. The sole was a bit slick on carpet and such until scuffed a little but no big deal. I can't find anything wrong with them. I've worn a lot of good boots and paid a lot of good money and these are a great alternative. These are a great replacement for the Timberlands I used to wear. Used to, because the warranty and quality are gone from Timberland and the price is more designer shoe than work boot. Don't let the low price fool you. These are good boots.
Water proof up to 4 inches. Rub the back of my leg leave blisters hope it will stop when broken in. Slick bottoms no tread not rubber. Good boot on flat surface comfortable on feet may get insoles to make them tighter. I buy larger because of ingrown toenails maybe why they rub.
