The WOLVERINE Women’s Torrent Waterproof Duck Boot stands out due to its premium material choice. The full-grain leather exterior paired with a vulcanized rubber shell offers both durability and elegance, ensuring these boots can withstand harsh weather conditions while still looking great.
Comfort is paramount, and the fleece lining combined with moisture-wicking mesh means your feet will stay warm and dry. The removable EPX Anti-Fatigue footbed adds an additional layer of cushioning, perfect for those days when you’re on your feet for extended periods. Plus, the rubber lug outsole provides stellar traction, making navigating slick surfaces much safer.
However, the boots do lean towards the heavier side, which might be a consideration if you're looking for something more lightweight for all-day wear. Additionally, while the ankle shaft design allows for versatile styling, some users find it less protective against deeper snow, limiting usage in harsh winter conditions. Sizing is also worth noting; a few customers have mentioned that they tend to run a bit small, so trying them on or ordering half a size up could be wise.
In summary, the WOLVERINE Women’s Torrent is a stylish and functional choice for anyone seeking a waterproof boot that bridges the gap between fashion and utility.

They fit small, I usually wear a size 5 and accidentally got a size 5.5 and they fit me like a size 5. The inside is lightly cushioned and softly lined feels so warm and comfortable. Water resistant soft leather upper with hook to pull boots on, the leather is so soft and color is beautiful. The boot and sole are strong well made Durable rubber, easy to clean and the BEST THING EVER is the ANTI - FATIGUE SOLE!!!!! I have severe arthritis and bursitis in one hip and I have to walk everywhere, and I haven't been able to do it without excruciating pain and barely making it, so I had a 4 mile walk put the boots on felt funny at first, but I could walk fast, I didn't have pain, I was using different muscles, I did the 4 miles and I finished with very little hip pain. I was so Amazed, Happy!! Will never buy anything else!!! Well Worth the Money. Something Definitely Worth Trying!!
I wanted to keep these boots SO BAD but I am an old lady with sometimes swollen legs. Alas I had to send them back and was very sad about it. I am still savoring the sliding in of my foot, I kid you not. SO comfy!!!I will try again once I have dropped 60 pounds as the traction was amazing, they were super cute and easy off and on.
I live in the state where the duck boot was created. I even live with 27 miles of two of that company's outlets. But those boots, unless I got the kind with the thinsulate and the padded liner, in the $200-$309 range, always rubbed on my heal or otherwise were abrasive. With the high price of food these days, a boot of that price is not possible. Knowing fall rains are here and winter is rapidly approaching, and my 14 yr old boots had cracked, the shopping quest was on! Used the 'try before you buy' program for several pairs of boots before I found this brand. Got tired of driving boxes 48 mrt to ship back. My feet are difficult. They are wide. They have very high arches. One is a 1/2 size smaller, and due to a poorly healed break, slightly crooked. Should I try these Wolverines? Or will it be just another return? The ratings warned about the narrow heel, but other than that, the ratings were really good. I have mobility issues. I kept reading the few reviews, over and over. I 'pulled the trigger' and paid up front, knowing they wouldn't be returned if they fit. When they arrived, I pulled them on, with thick boot socks with arch supports as part of the sock. They were tight, but so comfortable!!! No issue in my house, with the heel, which didn't appear thin to my eyes. I wondered if I could tolerate the tightness, and watched TV in them. My feet were too compressed. I took the boots off and checked every single stitch. Perfect!!! And four layers of stitching holding the leather to the rubber! The suede pull strap was strong! And the tread has grip. I have not found that to be so in the brand made in my state. My arches were comfortable, and the leather is thick and provides ankle support! Some folks said they tie them once, then use the side zip. I had never had a side zip boot. With my high arches, I have to unzip and loosen laces too, but it IS worth it! I've never had a duck boot that fit, didn't chafe, didn't slip and had support!Going through an exchange will be worth it and I did, ordering 1/2 size up. My feet, because of the issues, take an 8 or 8.5, so I would say that they are true to size. The 8.5 wide arrived and I held my breath. I had gone through this boot hunt in 2021 and finally gave up, only to repeat in 2022! No worries! A perfect fit! No need to keep the tag on and 'make sure'. I did a few household chores where my feet had to step over the hearth, etc. No problem! No blisters. Not even a rub as there boots are fully lined and come with an insole so comfortable that I won't have to use my orthotics! I snipped the tag off and went on a grocery run, which in my case requires lugging groceries up terribly uneven, rutted terrain. And it was raining. Not a single slip! No problem ever with the heal! My ankles were supported, and my feet were dry. Not a single rub any place. I am psyched! Boots that work for me! As said, it took 2 years to find boots! That's why I kept the last pair for 14 years. Such a relief to find a moderately priced boot that meets every single need. I also needed snow boots. Although the Wolverine site on Zon doesn't carry Wolverine winter duck boots, the company website does! I now have my Wolverine winter boot, and Wolverine has a very happy new customer and I am done boot shopping! Life is good!
My feet are super picky, now that I'm "elderly" and these work great! I had no trouble with the heel at all, as someone mentioned, and they seem very supportive as well, which my feet absolutely require these days. I just adore the soles; I think the horizontal pattern with such a deep cut makes so much sense, and since I tend to walk fast and sometimes end up slipping, these are just so necessary for me. Also, I like that they are not lined with a lot of warm stuff--I'm hot-natured, and hope to use them in the warmer months as well as the cool weather we are having now. It is so hard to find boots for women that will work in our mountains; it's like people think all women do is sit around and walk around on carpet. I don't, I'm an avid mountain climber, and it requires superior tread! So thanks to Wolverine for making something for us. I was also pleasantly surprised that they don't rub on my ankles, as I usually have trouble with ankle boots because of that. I think I will depend on these for years and years!
I received the boots today and they seemed to be well made. I immediately knew they were very small without trying them on. I ordered a half size larger so I could wear heavier socks but I could see that was still going to be too small. I took one boot out and placed it next to my regular leather boot that is 1/2 size smaller. Visibly you could see the Wolverine boot was MUCH smaller. I had a pair of thin socks on and tried on one boot and needed a shoe horn to get it on. Once it was on, the boot felt relatively comfortable and seemed supportive. I took it off right away because I haven't decided if I am going to return them or not.PROS: Nice design with laces and a size zipper. (Without the side zipper, I don't think you could get the boot on.) Materials are good with a solid, gripping sole. It even has an outcrop on the back to help get them off and a strap on the top to help pull them on.CONS: These boots run very small if you want to wear any kind of heavy sock. I would order a size to size and half larger.
I have issues with my feet. These are the best duck-type boots I have found. Great support in the sole; not just a piece of rubber you're walking on. AND they have AMAZING traction where others fail. I live in the snow-filled Midwest, and I am always afraid of slipping/falling. These alleviate A LOT of those fears. Don't keep feet really warm, but a thick pair of socks help. Also great if you're looking for just the fashion route. Liked so much I own a second pair
After I lace the boot to my liking I just have to use the side zipper. Makes it easy to put the boots on and off. I’m a size 6 but it was recommended to go 1 size up which I did and they fit perfect.
These boots are well made amd very comfortable. Cam wear them all day and no issues. Keep feet warm and dry without having sweaty feet during my work day.
