These are leather upper boots. That means the material surrounding and covering your foot is leather. I was unsure as several reviews said these are not leather. These are leather boots. I got 6.5 which is what I wear and they fit perfectly with medium weight socks and are comfortable. Leather is soft and supple. I find some boots to narrow, width wise these feel great. The insole has some cushioning in the heel and has an arch support area. Heel is higher that toe box. Not orthopedic shoes but very comfortable to walk a mile or two without issue. No side zipper which I do prefer.

These are actually much roomier in the toe box for a regular width shoe than expected and I have slightly wide feet. Decent sole cushioning with light arch support. Outside feels/smells/looks like real leather to me, albeit soft leather. Inside label indicates leather upper and leather/textile inner lining. I purchased these more for ankle support and these fit that need quite well. Wish the arch support was a bit higher, but since the toe box has plenty of room, I'll just overlay a Pedag insert on top. The insole IS removable as it's only lightly glued down for those wanting to put your own in. The boots came with the red/black laces, but an additional set of black laces was also attached. The red and black is adorable, but I'll probably switch to black in order to mix and match better with casual business office wear. These do NOT have a side zipper so you will have to adjust the upper laces to remove and put back on. I've only worn these twice so far, but no heavy walking or standing so I'm unsure as to all day comfort as is without an insert or overall durability. Will try and update review if I notice anything worth mentioning after a few weeks of wear.

It took a while to find the right boot for me. I wanted an total leather combat boot that did not have actual holes for the laces. This book is super super cute especially with the buffalo plaid laces. Love the fit and the toe shape and looked amazing with my outfit which was a white button up shirt ...black leather jacket....jeans and these boots. No photo but as a musician who plays in a lot of bars and theaters....it was cute as hell!
Boots are soft and very good equality.
It is much closer to actual size than reported by reviewers here. I typically wear an 8 or 8 1/2 in boots and got a 7 1/2 in this style. It is a bit narrow around the box of the foot but length fits fine. For the price, it is worth a bit if discomfort until I can break it in.
