I never wear any kind of heel anymore, so I bought these with high hopes they'd be comfortable for a night out, and they were. My toes felt a bit scrunched up but I was able to power through. They're sturdy too. Glad I found these and for the price I got them at ($30 on sale from $120 supposedly), definitely a good deal.
I think these are the cutest booties! Exactly the color I was looking for too. I am a size 9M 99% of the time but I do have thick ankles/lower legs. I was able to wear these for the first time on a night out for many hours comfortably. I ordered a 9 1/2 initially based on the reviews stating that they run small... and then the next day the 9M and 9W were on sale for almost 1/2 of what I had paid for the 9 1/2. I ordered both to try... The 9 1/2 would have worked but I ended up keeping the 9W. 9W was not loose in the foot at all. The top edge of the bootie did not cut into my legs and I think it would have been uncomfortable if I kept the 9M. So my experience was not that I needed to size up but I did prefer the W width.
The wool material of these boots makes them excellent for cold weather. Because it is a wedge, my stride is very stable. I also think the sole has a good grip to it, so they do pretty well on slippery surfaces. I wouldn't recommend them for walking through the snow, but a quick run through the rain will do just fine.An important note -- my feet do NOT run wide, but these feel super tight on the sides of my feet. I've been wearing thick socks and they are stretching out a bit. They aren't uncomfortably tight, but they take some effort to pull them off.If your feet run even a tiny bit wide, I would not recommend these shoes.
I love MOST Dr Scholls boots but I didn’t realize the zipper was on the outside of the boot rather than inside. It is a million times easier to reach a zipper on the inside of the leg. I mean, seriously tho. It’s true. Further I don’t know what it is about the material on the inside of these boots. I can’t slide in easily. I have to force my foot in and crease up the whole boot trying to shove my foot in. They aren’t small, if anything they’re a tad big. I feel plenty of space at the toe! But goodness I have to fight these boots every day getting my feet in and out and I don’t understand why. The friction is puzzling. I even switched to the thinnest socks possible. I don’t know. Not my favorite of all the Dr Scholls boots I’ve owned.
