I bought my first pair of Dr. Martens in my early 20s. $110 + tax and the most I'd EVER paid for a pair of shoes at that time. Black, original, size 6. I loved those boots!BUT.,.Fun fact: On the list of "Things they DON'T tell you about pregnancy/birth of offspring"..... Your feet swell. No, not the retaining water, on your feet too long or hiked up a near by mountain.... I mean, that happens too...But the BONES in your feet are made up of material similar to your pelvis... Which has the ability to soften/expand, to enable said offspring to escape their pod without breaking your pelvic floor in the process. Which is an AWESOME thing! Your feet support an ever changing frame during pregnancy, keep you upright and help you waddle like a penguin in the last few months.So..."No one told me that, sometimes..." Your expanded bones/feet don't "exactly" go back to their former size. Like... Ever....So, after going through the stages of grief... I had to part with my shoes....including my Docs.Twenty five years later..... I'm 50 as of this past March. I finally honored MYSELF and bought my replacement pair. I wear a 7 now...I got a 7. My daughter said she "heard they hurt to break in"....I LOVE MY NEW(ISH) BOOTS!!!!!I went with Waterproof because I walk, use public transportation, etc. I went with traditional style because I'm old (and cool). Fit wise... If there were half sizes, a 6-1/2 would possibly fit better. I had ZERO issues with breaking in, even being waterproof. They aren't " too big" either and I can always wear an extra pair of socks if necessary.Plus, I figured, who knows.... There might be some OTHER "foot expanding in the future that no one tells you about".... So, I'm covered!I love them. I wear them with skirts, dresses, long shorts/ jeans with knee highs.... Perfect in rain, rough surfaces, inclines. The soles are perfect, originally created to repel EVERYTHING (as a factory shoe) and they do. They also aren't heavy as you walk. (My former substitute was waterproof Timberlands with steel toes, so using that as my reference.)SUMMARY:If you've been looking, but think it's "not necessary"... Or " too much money".... If you've added them to your Wish List but you're procrastinating or don't think you're *worth it"..... STOP IT!!!!BUY THEM!!!for comfort, for nostalgia, for longevity, for self worth.Peace & Love y'all!!! ✌❤🤗
These are so comfortable. Great for walking, super cute. These are by far my new favorite shoes, I wear them every day— super warm, hold up to weather, never had blisters or any discomfort. 10/10 would recommend.
I wear 8 1/2 but these boots run bigger so I just did a 8. Great.
It was great!
They are being used for a marine biology class. They have a good surface grip to not slip and fall around tide pool unlike rain boots.
These do not fit like they used to. No arch support. These also fit tight across the top of the boot. I finally bought a boot stretcher so that I wouldn’t have to return. All and all a very well made boot. TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!
The boots have steel toes, heavy, fit small, too tough in the heal area, the leather is kind of oily, not the quality I expected as read from all the reviews before buying...
I found the shoe so stiff and the opening to put foot in so narrow I couldn't' get my foot in.
