If you have slender ankles as I do, this is a great fitting boot. Comfortable out of the box. I would recommend for sure.I'm trying to decide on these or the Rockport chelsea boot.
These being sold as "wide" is laughable - honestly I think they're narrower than medium width. And definitely not for those of us with high arches - I can't zip them up at all. Not even a little bit. Design fail. Finding zip up ankle boots with traction and a lowish heel that are actually wide has been much harder than I anticipated. Thank goodness that I finally found the Rockport Women's Ryleigh Gore Chelsea Waterproof Boot, which ticks all of the boxes for me.
I got the taupe color in 8.5W for my mostly 8.5, but sometimes 8, wide-ish feet, and they are too big. I have wide toes, narrow heels, and thin ankles. While these are 1/2 size too big, they are made for my feet/legs. So, if you have wide toes, narrow heels, flat feet and thin ankles, get the wides and consider going down by a 1/2 size (or go down if you are between sizes). These are really well made and have a lot of structure/padding on the bottom. These will be great for the office in the winter--with pants.
Cute but not for wide feet
I love this boot. Easy on and off. It is good quality as always with Cobb hill. Good tread for winter and waterproof. I ordered several colors. I have been ordering Cobb Hill for years and they are my favorite boots. They do not seem to wear out easily. The shaft does not rub my leg as others have had trouble with. I look forward to winter so I can wear these more.
The top rubs the leg/ankle making the boot uncomfortable. The leather is too stiff.
I have been having pain in my left foot for the last 6 months. The only shoes that really have been comfortable are my Brooks running shoes which I can wear without pain. I was so excited to find this boot because it doesn't cause pain in my left foot either and I now have a non-sneaker option is stylish and comfortable. The center zip design makes these easier to slip on versus boots with a side zip or no zip. I highly recommend this Cobb Hill boot!
